if you have been a follower of baseball for years, you know when the levels of greatness were in the sport....... it was way before any enhancing drugs.... players like stan musial, ted williams..... players nowadays use performance enhancing drugs to make it through the business. sure it doesnt help them make contact with the ball, but it can effectively make a popfly turn into a homerun, or a fly in the infield drop into the outfield for a hit...... its just that extra push, that extra edge. Ive seen broken bat homeruns in the past few years, what causes that??????? steroids. for years theyve been saying the ball has been juiced and that it was the smaller strikezones and smaller ballfields that caused such a jump in homeruns....... but we all know now that it was performance enhancing drugs. I for one was astounded when I watched mark mcguire play for the cardinals. batting practice was such a spectacle in itself. he would crush these balls into upperdeck in old busch stadium. I seen him almost hit a ball out of royals stadium in kc during batting practice. he hit the concession stands there, and thats unreal. and then it was all because he was juiced. sure he would have hit those homeruns, but being juiced gave him this extra edge, like he was godly, belting out these massive homeruns. I havent seen any massive homeruns like that since they put a mandatory drug screening into mlb....... of course barry should have an asterisk "*" put next to his record in the books. especially if he is proven guilty of using illegal drugs. the record is tainted whether you see it that way or not. there were many other great players over the years who never used drugs. they had skill, and to have a guy who basically cheated to break that mark is just wrong. this record means nothing now........ you can just tell by the way no one was there to congratulate him on his record breaking defeat....... hank aaron wasnt there in person to congratulate him, and neither was the commissioner of baseball. thats saying something, isnt it?????

like i've always said...if you're gonna call out barry for using...you better start calling out all the players, including the non-hitters who use, such as all the pitchers. because its not just the power-hitters, and singling them out while other positions probably have more to do with these performance drugs than anyone else. this is my whole point. the nature of the game is to use, but we want to sensationalize a few players. fuck that. all of them, or none of them. you guys want change - its easy, dont' support it. dont' watch it, don't go to the games, dont' read about it. dont' do anything for it....but that won't happen, because people just want to be entertained. we aren't pro athletes (as far as i know), wsre just spectators - we're fans..thats all. go after the baseball players, or don't - just quit singling barry out, because quite frankly, its a bunch of BS when there are tons of others who do it, but just never had the skill that Barry has. same for all the other sports...its either all of them, or none of them. take your pick. dont' single players out, because its no longer a tiny problem.
those numbers dont mean anything. there are what, 17 games in a season for football, and 162 games a season for baseball??? just think of the numbers of seats available for baseball games....more people watch baseball than football. think about it.

where are you getting saying i said they should? i'm just saying i dont' care - i'm not playing, and niether are you...and to further this - i dont' think they should be illegal, but it should be up to the organization to dictate what is or what isn't appropiate to use. screw the gov't and it dictating what is and what isn't illegal. that should be the organization of which you are a part of. they choose to play for these organizations. thats as far as it should go. the gov't should not be involved, they're a bunch of circus acts to begin with up there on capitol hill...what the fuck do they know about this? and when you still have people who think creatine is an illegal drug...yea, people need to be more educated, instead of making statements that they have no backing with. people dont' know what is or what isn't illegal, people dont' even know all the damn uses to these drugs. some think you'll get freakin' swole just by taking a cycle...but they neglect that you still have to bust your ass even when on a damn cycle. but the way it stands now - yes, it is illegal...does that mean we should just single barry out, like the media has and tons of baseball talking heads and fans have? because i think thats BS. steroids did not make him a great player and people want to take that away from him. gimme a break. all or none of them
