I’m considering a trip to Greece or Egypt. What are your experiences barefooting through the cities, into restaurants, museums, etc. Chances are I won’t be able to do much, given other folks I’ll be with, but there’s always the occasional opportunity to slide my fucking shoes off. The floor is now open (hope it’s dirty):
As a (long ago) distance runner, I treasure the memory of Abebe Bikila, who won the gold in the Olympic marathon running barefoot through the streets of Rome!
I suspect Greece could be way, way more fun and hospitable than that shithole Egypt . They also do things like torturing and murdering harmless foreigners and are generally speaking your average towelhead: poor, ignorant, intolerant as fuck and hate white people, because we're all infidels. Yes you can have booze in Egypt but it's not readily available and the places that sell alcohol are like a bullseye for terrorists,Yes, because in Egypt terrorist attacks against tourists are a thing. If you are ok with people slitting the throat of large and small animals on public streets that look like dumpsters, then Egypt is the place for you. I had Egyptian tenants and the reason why i didn't even get mad at them looking at the condition they left my property in was that they looked so scrawny and miserable I felt kinda bad for them. On the other hand in greece they do things like FRIGGIN' BLOWJOB CONTESTS and yes, get arrested, but not by the fucking nazi egyptian police. I always avoid going to places where death penalty is enforced and/or the justice system has an awful reputation: that's also why I'm never ever going to visit the USA. Greece is Europe, which means civilization. Egypt is in the same league of Pakistan. You make your choice. Yes I know I suck. But I kinda took Regeni's murder personally and I'm not really into forgiveness.
Wow! I respect your thoughts! I feel the same way about the Disunited States of Amerika, led by Fuhrer Trump...
You have to do something pretty horrendous to receive the death penalty in the USA- and even then, it takes over ten years for them to actually get around to executing you. Not that the wait is notably pleasant, I admit. Do you think the USA's just system has an awful reputation? If so, why?
Though i didn’t stay in both countries, I would prefer Greece. Lot of my friends go there and tell about a friendly and open minded atmosphere. In Egypt there is still proclaimed official state of emergency which gives police and other authorities virtually uncontrolled rights. Here there is an official partial travel warning by the federal foreign office for Egypt mainly mentioning risk of terrorist attacks against tourists, traveling to certain regions or events, or traveling alone.
Well actually I somewhat copied the style of herr Schtrumpf, which is a bit unsettling to me. Regarding the US system, it is quick and unforgiving and not very fair. Leaving the decision to a jury looks like an abomination to me, plus there are private-run jails which are, to say the least, a horror story of political interest in keeping as many people as possible behind bar just to make a miserable profit. (in Italy we have the opposite problem, kicking people out of jail to make room for new convicts) It is a justice system where murderous policemen are systematically acquitted while people of the wrong skin shade face the virtual certainty of a conviction. Sure every country has its own share of woes when it comes to justice, I agree with that. Italian justice is too lenient: regarding those two idiots who murdered an Italian cop in Rome, prepare yourselves to have them deported back to the US in about 22-24 years, if they don't act up too much while in jail they can expect to have their term slashed down to half and get free EVEN if they get a LIFE SENTENCE after 26 yrs. Today, the only ones who can get life and serve it to the end are mafiosos who refuse to cooperate with justice. Everyone else is eligible for being considered "reeducated" and sent free after a predetermined time.
