A few days ago I thought I'd try and do a long barefoot walk from Studland, to Sandbanks, only wearing a pair of shorts and a tshirt. I started at the NT car park, and headed into the NT shop where they welcome you barefoot, then onto the beach past the nudist section, and then onto the ferry - all the time barefoot. I saw one other girl coming of the ferry with no shoes in sight, and really dirty soles. The ferry is great for getting black soles! Nobody said a word, and once off the ferry headed on the road all the way to the nature reserve at the end of Sandbanks. Amazing feeling with the boggy wetlands, and muddy paths and it felt great. After an hour of so I headed back on the road, onto the ferry where there were some teenagers who looked at my bare feet, and sniggered but that was it. I think they were jealous! I then headed and back to the car park. My soles were black! I reckon I walked 10 miles totally barefoot. Loved every minute
Thanks for sharing your barefoot experience I like reading about the barefoot experiences of others. Sounds like this area is mostly for recreation. Do you find many others going barefoot?
You get quite a few barefooters in Sandbanks, mainly coming off the beach and into the local shops, or walking down the road to the car parks. I've seen one or two barefooters on the ferry - particularly filthy feet - again usually coming off or going to the beach to get the ferry. There are also some shop workers in the water sports places that work barefoot.
That's really cool you see other barefooters.. I don't see others barefoot very often. If I do I say hello tell them I noticed they were barefoot like me and say we must be sole mates.
I really don’t see a lot of barefoot people now days. I wish people would just go barefoot and see what they are missing out on.
