http://nottinghambarefootfestival.com/ Thought this may be of interest to some. Could be a good way for anyone who's shy about going barefoot in public to start. Of course a lot of us don't need an excuse to walk several miles barefoot on a Sunday, but I might go, it would be pretty cool to be surrounded by hundreds of other bare feet.
Yeah it's probably fun but goes against my belief that people in need could do with more important things than being sent your 2nd hand shoes. People in Africa did very well without shoes until the Christian Missionaries came to 'Civilize' them. I mean no offence to you, just my opinion Sx
No, I agree there is more important things we could do than send unwanted shoes. Must admit I hadn't taken much notice of what the actual charity was for.
I guess it's a good way for those new to barefoot (such as me) to test the water in a 'safe' environment. Anything that introduces barefooting to the masses can only be a good thing!
I'm doing a barefoot walk for a proper charity next week. I'll be the only one barefoot but it'll really mean something at least. http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/mt/uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserPage.action?userUrl=tigerfeet6&pageUrl=4&isTeam=true
