Hi everybody, I have a crazy story to share, so let’s get started. So my friend and I were hanging at the Lehigh Valley Mall on November 14th, and I saw all those mattresses in the Macy’s furniture section, and I was thinking of taking off my shoes and going on them for fun. Originally, I was thinking about going on them in my socks, but then, in the days leading up to the next visit to the mall, my friend was telling me what would happen if I were to expose my feet on something like that, so I got a really crazy idea to actually expose my feet on a mattress, so I did it on a Macy’s mattress on our Martin Luther King weekend visit to the mall, and I enjoyed it a lot. So then I was wondering what would happen if I did it in front of other people since my friend was not letting me do that, so over a month later, on February 26th, we finally had a visit there, and I was able to do it. I did it in JCPenney and had a positive reaction from one customer, and a little girl was pointing out my bare feet to her mom. I enjoyed seeing their reactions and my friend making jokes about it so much I wanted to do it a second time in Macy’s, so I tried multiple times to do so, and finally did it toward closing. But then the craziest thing happened: An employee came over and yelled at me for it and threatened to call security twice over it!!! I think she didn’t know exactly why I kept coming into Macy’s because of the way she reacted. She probably thought I was looking to do something bad when I really wasn’t. A lot of you are probably going to say no to this, but have you had any experience being on a store mattress barefoot?
No, I haven't done this. The store has a point. Just in case you might have dirty feet (or clothes for that matter), they don't want you to foul something that they're obviously trying their damnest to sell for full price. Looks comfy, though.
I have to agree with the previous poster. Mattresses are merchandise, and usually fairly expensive. Judging by your description, you obviously weren't a customer interested in buying. I don't think you were vandalizing the merchandise, but your actions likely weren't those of a person who is actually considering buying the mattress.
