I've been going barefoot in the snow lately. We've had about 8 inches on the ground here so the cover isn't bad. The feeling of bare feet in the snow is remarkable. It makes me much much happier to clean the snow off the deck.
Had my feet in the snow a bit this morning. We don't have a lot of snow, just a 'smattering' but enough to qualify I got used to the chill pretty quickly as I went about town doing my shopping. I live in quite a hippie area and everyone I know is used to my barefeet so no comments..sometimes I long for a comment just so I can post one here Shayla x
Got up and went out in the snow today to do some repairs to my van. Gotta admit it was a little too cold this morning, after about 30mins I just had to go back inside and thaw out by the stove! Snow is just one of those things that's irresistable, I just want to walk barefoot in it. I don't know why, I know it's really cold but there is something about the sensation that's nice; I suppose it's a bit like the ol pain-pleasure thing.
The only time that I remember being barefoot in the snow was when I was living in an old farmhouse that had a sauna. When the sauna was too much we would go out in the snow to cool down before we went back in the sauna.
2nd Day Of Winter Here And Whilst We Are A Long Way From Snow I Would Like To Say I Much Prefer Frost To Snow, Frost Has Very Big Crunchy Crystals, And Snow Has Very Fine Crystals, Sometimes The Fine Crystals Tend To Sting, Whereby The Larger Frost Crystals Just Crunch Under Your Feet... Cheers Glen.

Then I've got into some kind of ice melting reagents on a road and my feet turns this. It took about a month to heal.
^...Took Off At Least 2 Layers Of Skin.......What Were They Using......Sulphuric Acid...???... :yikes: Cheers Glen.
I can walk in a snow about 30-40 minutes easily. In the same time, here, in Arizona, I have a problem to walk 2 minutes on a black asphalt from 1pm to 4pm when it's getting very hot. The gray asphalt or concrete doesn't give much troubles thought.
I dunno, but I've been told this reagents turns -10C (10F) ice into a -35C (-31F) liquid. I'm an experienced barefooter and have a very strong feet, but this chemical gave me a Second-degree frostbite.
For some reason the youtube links on my previous post got broken. The temperature was about 10F (-10C) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awWYhDmupbI
