Spent a week in London recently, totaly barefoot as usual except for some work commitments, and for the first time in many years this happened: a shout of "you have to have shoes on in here, mate" in a West End pub I've been to many times without problems (just as I was leaving,so it made no difference, but offputting) and being squarely confronted, told "you can't be in here without shoes" and accompanied to the exit in the Wembley Boxpark as I enquired about an event after having been there for some time already. Never had situations like this in London before - has something changed?
Probably just unlucky. I find the negative comments come in clusters. Much less likely to happen in sunny hot weather, it’s a different mood when it’s overcast and cooler. Keep at it
