I would be happy to take you up on that, but I'm on the other side of the pond. I wouldn't wear shoes, of course. But I'm also not aggressive about other people who do or do not:love:
My goodness. This forum just took the anal rententive trophy from vegetarian circa 2005. And we were total pratts. Can you folks lay off the name calling and being all "twue" and "weal?" No where is there a rule that one must be a 24/7 barefooted willing to run through cholla cacti. I know you guys can do better than this. Let's see the amazing side of barefoot come back.
Okay. Loving side of the barefoot forum, comming right up. The other day I saw a barefoot chick.... but she knew it was taboo, she had flipflops in her hand. I followed her for like 16 blocks, whilst salivating all over myself and masturbating in my pocket, because going barefoot is so natural and sexy. amidoinitrite
You are so.bad, roo. Seriously, y'all are sounding like a pack of vegans in a vegetarian restaurant , that , gasp, serves dairy. I want to know who barefooted in London AND cholla cactus. Someone had to. It's a challenge.
does going barefoot automatically make you completely insufferable or is it kind of a correlation/causation thing? good luck with that drink.
On behalf of all normal members of this forum I would like to apologize for BarefootIsNaturals' behaviour here. If you are new on this forum or considering joining this forum, you must know we are not all like him.
I took my son out to a big trip in Central London. All around on the tube on different lines, on the Thames clipper on the river, around Tower Hill and Westminster, up to Arsenal and Finsbury Park and finally homeward bounds. Funny enough, my feet weren't that dirty black, more dusty grey. Now that's barefoot in London!
Oh but I am!! I'm taking up the mantle on his behalf and starting a new list. This is for all barefoot farm animals in the London area, but only if you go barefoot on your way to work on alternate Shrove Tuesdays. Joining is compulsory and you must give full details of the length of your journey (to the nearest inch), what you trod in in 2010, and whether you are barefoot in the bath on Saturday mornings (Sunday mornings do not count)...... Can't decide if he was for real or just taking the wee...anyway glad we're back to normal:2thumbsup:
On the Underground, on the Victoria line, then Metropolitan line to The Barbican Centre for the Design 007 Exhibition - 50 years of Bond Style. Barefoot throughout. Then back home through Liverpool Street railway station. :coffee:
All week I have been working in Lewisham/Catford. So I have been travelling from North East London through Stratford on the DLR to Lewisham and onto the bus to Catford, barefoot there and barefoot back. Walking through all the crowds at Stratford station where the Paralympics are taking place. Being so warm also, it feels really good barefooting all around the place.
This thread has been quiet throughout the winter and as I've just had my first extended barefoot trip up to Central London I thought I'd revive it. I don't do much outside barefooting in the winter as I seem to be very susceptible to chilblains but the weather seems to have turned (at last!) Today I took the bus and tube up to Regent's Park followed by a walk down to Camden. Then tube down to Euston for a baguette and coffee followed by bus home. Took some back-up flip-flops with me as I wasn't sure how my soles would cope after the winter break but they were fine, so I missed out on the extra kick I get from knowing I've no footwear with me. Soles very black from the tube as always.
My first two barefoot sightings of the year in London today. Two young women - one in Camden, the other in Islington. One definitely not carrying footwear, the other possibly not, though I didn't ask to search her bag! But where are the men?
Found this online some time ago...it's of a woman at the Notting Hill Carnival going around in barefoot sandals. Don't know how common a sight this is. I was once in London about five years ago and saw a woman walking barefoot in the British Museum. (The reason I took note is that she was confronted by the staff to put on some shoes, which she rather vocally refused to do, and then presumably left the museum.) Only barefoot person I saw while there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYmb87evE9M&feature=plcp
Very nice video. I've been to the Carnival a few times, though without barefoot sandals (or any other sort of sandals!) About twenty years ago I remember seeing a few other barefooters there (male and female), but the last couple of times (about five years ago) I was the only one. Seeing this video makes me want to do it again this year. I loved threading my way through the debris on the streets. Not taking any footwear with you means you just have to press on - no chickening out, which for me adds to the thrill.
Hi all...my first post so should probably be in the hello everybody section but I'm feeling rebellious...please forgive me. I just wanted to say that I'm an inhabitant of old London town (just about, the very SE corner) and barefoot peeps are very thin on the ground here. The last coupla years I've hardly worn shoes at all round the neighbourhood from spring to autumn and I'm almost always the only barefooter around. The folk in Morrisons never say anything (apart from one member of staff who wanted to know why I had no shoes because he was interested, coming from a country where barefooting was the norm and we've chatted a few times....he's always stocking the beer shelves ). LIDL, ALDI and my local Co-op don't seem to give a monkeys but I got given "the lecture" twice in ten minutes recently in Wickes. Was I aware that it was a hardware store seemed to be the general gist. No wonder I couldn't find any chocolate eclairs. Apparently their floor is regularly bestrewn with piles of nails....looked fairly well swept to me but hey whadda I know?
Its about time I added something in this thread. On Friday, my first proper barefoot venture this year. Went home from working onsite. Travelled from Peckham on the bus to Vauxhall tube station and then on to the underground to Walthamstow Central. Funnily, my soles wasn't that black. A bit surprised there. Today, again travelling home from work but this time from Lee, South East London. Again on to the bus to Lewisham DLR station, changed at Canary Wharf by crossing the platform for a train to Stratford and then bus to Walthamstow. Just took it in my stride. Was very tried from work today so walking barefoot made me feel easy and free. Getting rid of the stress. As I am gathering pace barefooting this summer, I was thinking about getting some ankle bracelets or bangles or something to wear. Any suggestions, what a guy can wear? Thanks.
