Circumstantial, but it certainly helps and adds to your well-being. Even better, if you can do it in nature. There's a new summer coming, and I'm already eagerly waiting for the opportunities to hike in my bare feet.
Being barefoot has help me with a lot of things like with my back my gout and my knees. And with stress it’s better than taking pills
Yes it is I just love my barefoot lifestyle and all the health benefits that comes with being barefoot.
"Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we're doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around us." "Instead of worrying about the future or dwelling on past actions, you are focused solely on remaining in the present moment." "Researchers reviewed more than 200 studies of mindfulness among healthy people and found mindfulness-based therapy was especially effective for reducing stress, anxiety and depression. Mindfulness can also help treat people with specific problems including depression, pain, smoking and addiction." Obviously going barefoot helps with this.
Most definitely has helped with stress, depression and brain fog. I am averaging almost 8 thousand steps a day and most days 2 to 3 thousand are barefoot. Takes time to toughen the feet for longer walks and hikes. When at home I am almost always barefoot. As soon as my feet hit the grass all is well.
This is an interesting subject! As a lifetime barefooter I know that it has always made me feel "better" when I am barefoot. This was especially the case during Covid with lockdowns and working from home for two and a half years, all barefoot. Recently I have started undertaking 8-12km walks on a Sunday and this has had the effect of elevating my feeling of wellbeing. I have only been doing this for the last couple of months but my stress and anxiety levels seem to have dropped right off. I find the Sunday walk "prepares" me for the week ahead. It's almost like a drug now!
