I have had a few encounters while walking barefoot in the park. All of them have been pleasant enough. Today I had a funny one. I was walking on the far side of a soccer field when a man called out to me. I stopped my walk and crossed the field to where he was. When I got there he said he had noticed me before and was concerned that I was walking barefoot. The temp at this moment was about 43. He asked what size shoes I wore and that he hated to see anyone with out shoes and he wanted to get me a pair. I thanked him and explained I had plenty of shoes and that I was barefoot because I simply enjoyed being barefoot. I explained to him the science behind barefoot walking and the benefits, and finally encouraged him to try it when it warmed up. This was my fourth barefoot encounter and the funniest.
At this time of th In the colder months especially, people seem to associate bare feet with poverty. I.....I'm not sure if if here in the US at least, there's anyone who's so poor they can't obtain some sort of footwear if they want it.
I know I have had people ask to buy me shoes and I tell them that I don’t wear shoes and I haven’t worn shoes or socks in over 32 years and then they ask other questions like do I go out barefoot in snow? And I tell them yes and that I use my snowblower and I’m barefoot removing snow and t cut my lawn and string trim barefoot and I go fishing and camping and hunting in my bare feet and they are amazed. Like yesterday I had a lady give me a pair of shoes and when I told her she said ok and took them back but I thanked her so I know how it goes.
It is so sad that people don't even know what they are missing out on. I don't live by these made up rules developed by society. I love my bare feet plain and simple and I enjoy them how they were made to function.
