Barefoot Driving, Its Better Right ?

I wore shoes for a today for the first time in a wile and got in the car and wow did it feel weird to not be able to feel where my foot was on the peddles and just clunky and clumsy feeling.

I made it about two blocks before I pulled my shoe off cause it just felt strange, I guess what it was is I was so used to like curling my toes or like flexing the ball of the foot area to work the gas peddle it was strange to go back to just bending at the ankle to press on the gas. Also with shoes you can't feel the exact moment of contact when going for the break like when barefoot and breaking with shoes is weird too going back to just an ankle bend.

I know there is a myth out there that driving barefoot is unsafe but I don't see how that would possibly stand up to science and not get busted.

 

A Few Months Ago The Head Of Road Safety Here In Australia Put Out A Notice Advising Drivers Not To Wear

Flip-Flops Or High Heels Whilst Driving, But To Instead "Drive Barefoot", He Said It's Much Safer And Gives You

A Better Feel For Driving........

I won't allow flip flops on my boat, they are kind of a hazard and when someone said it was nonsence so I Googled "flip flop falls" and found the video and was like told ya so.

i think it depends a lot on the kind of shoe too. standard tennis shoes and barefoot feel about the same to me. i mean, they feel a little different, but i get used to either one equally quickly and i feel like i have the same level of control either way. work boots or dress shoes are a little more awkward though, and i pretty much refuse to drive in flip flops or snow boots.

haven't tried high heels, and i really don't plan to.

Much better. I am glad we have had a warm fall because it extends the
barefoot driving season.

 

I took my driving test barefoot since the DMV tester wouldn't let me drive wearing my flaps. The year was 1973. I've been drifting barefoot ever since. Even drive to,work that way and out my shoes on in the car.

 

All know is men can, I never found them sexy. I remember the first time we got a hold of playboy magazine as kids and looking at the naked women mostly with high heels on and like wow naked look but asking myself why the heck are they all naked wearing dressup shoes ?

High heels are sexy, is that another myth everyone goes along with because they think that everyone else thinks heels are sexy looking?

 

i don't think any men really care for high heels. a lot of women's fashion is really only liked by women.
