Mowing the lawn, sweeping the patio, picking up sticks, other yardwork: BAREFOOT! Gee, dear, what more is on yer honey-do list? Laundry? Hardware store? Supermarket?? On it!
I can't imagine doing yard work, including mowing the lawn if I'm not barefoot. I've even done chainsaw work barefoot, although admittedly that might have been foolish.
I do just about all yard work barefoot. Tbh you'd have to be wearing some pretty hardcore safety footwear to keep a chainsaw from reaching your foot.
Took the bed linen and mattress out to the porch tonight to air them out. -20 Celsius (-4 Fah) weather with snow on the porch, little grains of ice stuck themselves to my bare soles when I stood there shaking and dusting my blankets and pillows barefooted. One item per dusting, totaling maybe three minutes a piece, then I returned inside and stood for a while on an old towel laid out on to the floor for the express purpose of letting the ice melt on it, and for my feet to warm back up, before I moved on to work on the next item to freshen it up in the cool and clear winter weather. Shoes hardly needed when you clean up your house.
I enjoy working around the house and yard while barefoot. I am barefoot almost all the time when home. Last Saturday with the temperature in the 40’s I split fire wood.
