How do you get your feet tough enough to run through the woods and hills the way this young man is doing? I want to be able to walk, not run necessarily, through the woods with out concern of hurting my feet. He’s not showing any concern or caution, he’s just running and climbing.

If you barefoot regularly in varied ...... even rocky....terrain, you wil get to where you never think about hurting your feet. The only thing you will watch for is thinga\s that will trip you or turn your ankle. your eyes have a wide angle that will take in the beauty of the landscape as well as the nature of the trail. You should never have to turn your head on your neck to both wonder and travel. Your feet, in time, become the type of locomotive that the type of terrain demands. I am not the guy in the video, but I used to move thru the woods in the same way. Of course it helps with speed if you travel the same trail regularly. I suspect the guy in the video does. Another aspect of barefooting is that in time you become very light on your feet. Parts of your feet automatically feel the surface and adjust to caress the surface or skim over a potential puncture without boreing into it. Speed helps in the process and keeps you from getting hurt badly from a single rough area of the traveling surface. Will you ever get a puncture? Yes.....occasionally, even rarely. A first aid kit is always a good idea. Thorns and leaf covered trails are always a higher risk, but you can usually tell when the trail is changing.
The more you go barefoot hiking and climbing in bare feet you really don’t think about hurting you feet . I know that I don’t think about hurting my bare feet when I’m hiking or climbing rocks and where I live there is a lot of mountains to climb barefoot
