after 40 years of barefooting finally had the nerve to fly to a far away destination completely barefoot / shoeless ! flew from Newark nj to anchorage Alaska without any form of footwear ! had non refundable tickets but at this stage of my life this was a must do ! in the past, always flew barefoot with back up flip flops. morning of flight, taxi pulled up and in that and in that split second opened my backpack and flung my flip flops across the room ! jumped into said taxi completely barefoot / shoeless. this was the most rewarding barefoot challenge of my life ! arrived at airport , checked in, went thru security and was asked where are your shoes ! said I don't have any !!! guy said good luck ! boarded flight to seattle, no problem . upon takeoff, looked down at my bare feet and was very happy with this accomplishment ! had to change planes in seattle. became nervous. next flight, no problem at all ! arrived in anchorage to my amazement 100 percent barefoot. 37 degrees with snow flurries. spent the next week in Alaska barefoot. in a side note, Alaska not barefoot friendly, got thrown out of a mall and a museum !!! flying to Hawaii next month. any of you guys/gals ever fly/travel totally barefoot !!!
When I get the where are your shoes question in stores and stuff I usually claim to have recently stepped in a large pile of dog poo wile walking and looking at my phone decided the best course of action was to take them off and throw them out then to attempt cleaning them cause I don't know what that dog had been eating but it was bad. When its asked in a friendly way I say it as a joke and get a laugh but if its about me needing them to be in a place I try to sound believable. I have never flown barefoot but I did see someone in LAX between where you get off the plane get your bags a few years ago.
Nope...Not If You Are A "Fulltime Barefooter" It Wouldn't Be......I Have No Problems With Down To -7c.....Far Better In My Opinion Than A 38c Blacktop Road Surface With Melting Tar...... Cheers Glen.
Congrats! I like to fly barefoot too. I love to walk the airport terminals and feel the various sensations of the floors. The best airport is Atlanta, it’s huge. I was asked only once by a gate attendant to put on shoes while I was in line, so I put on my flip flops, and to my surprise it was no big deal. I never get any negative comments walking thru airports, and in some instances I get friendly looks. I believe more people would travel barefoot, but need some encouragement by seeing others doing so. So who knows, perhaps we’ll show others that traveling barefoot is a great thing.
I actually don't have any shoes on at the moment on a plane. but I have stockings on and I'm rubbing the arch of my foot against a piece of something on the back of the seat in front of me and the feeling against the hose is orgasmic.
I'd never try this because I wore shoes all the way to New Zealand, then we had to land in Auckland before flying to Christchurch.. it was hot so I took my shoes off, put them in my case and checked the case onto the plane. Then the woman wouldn't let me board the plane. Luckily my partner had spare Crocs in his bag. Risking missing a flight over lack of footwear is an unnecessary added stress. It was obviously stupid though. Like there's going to be broken glass lying around in the boarding tunnel thing. But yeah just a warning to anyone who thinks there is something to be gained from flying around without at least shoes with you.
I’ve done some flights barefoot without problems, but I really would recommend keeping something in your cabin baggage you can put on your feet just in case they would refuse boarding barefoot. At the check in and at the safety control no one is interested if you go on bare paws, but the boarding point is the critical spot. All people I’ve ever heard of did have their problems there. And if you travel only with cabin baggage it’s even more easy to deny boarding, as they don’t need to unload your checked in baggage. So a pair of flip-flops or so may help preventing missing the flight. Afaik at this point the flight captain is the one who has the last decision, so in case of problems you might insist on asking her/him.
I have travelled barefoot too but I also carry a pair of flip flops in my carry on just in case. Sage advice Pixy!
