    Ok, I'm now out of school and working for the summer. I have to bring my own lunch, as it is impossiable to purchase vegan food from a deli or whatever. But, I am getting really sick of peanutbutter and jelly sandwhiches. I occasionally mix it up with a mixed veggie sandwhich. I also usually being some type of fruit, nuts and/or soy yoghurt. Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for a vegan bag lunch?

    Savoury
    Falafel
    Soya cheese sandwiches (with or without trimmings)
    A flask of soup
    Pasta/rice salads (dispensed into little pots)

    Sweet
    Trail mix
    Slices of homemade cake (bake one at the weekend and it'll last all week)
    Flapjacks *
    Carbo/vegan chocolate

    * My mother's recipe (tweaked a little).
    Makes 8-12 depending on how big you like them.

    5oz of brown sugar, 5oz of your margarine of choice, 6-7oz of rolled oats

    :) Melt the butter and sugar in a large pan
    :) Stir in the oats until you achieve the desired consistency (might take some trial and error over a few batches)
    :) Pour the mixture into a well greased shallow tin (a lasagna dish would be perfect)
    :) Bake at 190 degrees C (gas mark 5) for 25 mins.

    I bring sushi a lot (vegan sushi rolls that I make at home) to school. I also make a lot of gardenburgers and boca burgers and bring them.
