Yah the first time I saw Anchorman, I was really, really high and I thought it was hilarious... By the general tone of this thread, I thought I might recommend the movie "Get Hard" which Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell co-star in. * Disclaimer I have not seen the movie myself *
I must admit, watching any comedy with Will Ferrel in it gets better if you enjoy weed. Probably counts for Ben Stiller as well. And it definitely counts for Adam Sandler..
Zoolander... I've seen better film on teeth than that one was. But apparently I am in the minority as they are making another one.
The big Lebowski always got points from me for being a classic stoner comedy where not every single joke can be summed up as: MAIN CHARACTER: Weed exists. AUDIENCE: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH The thing I'm looking forward to most about legalisation is that that genre will fucking die.
didn't like zoolander or any of the meet the parents series. never sat through anchorman because, i just couldn't make myself try. yeah, i really never got the appeal of cheech and chong. this describes their movies more than any other.
I don't remember Zoolander all that well, nor Anchorman, but I know I have seen them both. Comedy is so cool.
I watched the Big Lebowski for the first time two months ago, and I LOVED it. It is the kind of movie I could definitely watch again and again.
nothing mentioned in this thread so far, is either familiar nor interesting to me. but if someone else were buying my way in to watch a movie, i'm (almost) sure that would be no worse then their mundane conversation. furtopia i'm looking forward to, the latest star wars iteration sounds like the same old crap, wrapped in new eye candy, which might make it worth looking at. "kicking ass", is not a quality i perceive as endearing. i don't know the names of comedy actors, names in general are not things i'm good at remembering. entertainment is a legitimate job, and i wish them well, but who any of them are, is just not something i've been interested in keeping up with for several decades now.
Hey we agree on something! Zoolander and anchorman were 2 of the worst movies I have ever seen. Basically anything with Ben stiller or will Ferrell is terrible to me. Anchorman came out when I was in highschool and everyone went over to watch it at our friends place. I remember just sitting there while everyone laughed their assess off thinking, "am I missing something or are my friends really stupid?"
My advice is that you tell her that you love her and that you are glad that you went just because she enjoyed it and you like spending time with her. Black people getting together in a social situation and being loud just go together. You can see the contrast in a black church service versus a white one, just for example. It's a cultural difference. You'll probably be less annoyed if you just see it as a black thing.
If you are really not glad that you went I would not tell her that if I were PR. I'm sure she's reasonable enough to get why he didnt like it.
