I told you I am talking about what psychologists say about people who swear a lot.
What are you worried about, being unpopular? Looks like it by the way you suck up to others ...


Foul-mouthed persons are ostracized by general society and forced into minor social positions, and by extension into minor social groups and by further extension into low-income positions.

This is not to say many people do not swear - they do ... I know several powerful business people who swear, but not because they lack language or IQ, but for emphasis. And they do not swear continually, but rarely, and they do not swear to impress others.

Do you know nothing about psychology?

seriously dude, i know what i know, and that's all that i know. i don't come off as being an asshole (ooh, did i use language there, i'm sorry oh great one) because i think i know more than others. for one, if YOU had a brain, you would know this is the music forum, wrong place for this thread. secondly, i HATE it when people think they're better than others, so no, i am not "sucking up" to anyone, just being the lowly humble human being that i am.

oh and by the way oh smart one, intelligence is all relative. you may know more about psychology or sociology than others here, but again, i state this is a music forum. you don't want to go there bro... but just because i personally feel i have more knowledge in music than other people, i don't go around boasting because of that. you sound like you need some time to reflect man, take life into perspective, and realize that you are totally not being "intelligent" right now.

Since you are mentally superior to the rest of us on here, perhaps you could answer me something. I was just wondering if psychologists say the same things about those who swear as those who seem to enjoy continuously putting down others.

 

Miami I think you know something about music and I respect that and I am not being personal here ... I do not think I am morally superior to everyone else, but I am morally superior to some ... aren't you?

I do not consider swearing a moral problem similar to say violence against another, but it is a silly thing to do in excess if you want to be successful in business for example.
Swearing is also a sign that a person has low self control and is subject to aggressive impulse - not always but most of the time.

It is simply better NOT to swear for psychological well-being and ALL the scientific evidence points to that. That is all I am saying.

Fine then. Within the past 2 years (so yes, I may be a novice) I've taken (and passed, mind you) several courses in social psych., human behavior, abnormal psych., & general psych. Next semester, I'll be taking child psych., abnormal psych. II, & advanced general psych.

You will be aware then of self-regulation as a conceptual area in psychology, the area I am referring to here, relating to modification of impulsive and aberrational behavior. The interesting thing about this study is that it continually advances due to culture change. Fascinating stuff really.

And by the way you ARE persuaded by Brittney and the like because the advertisers are SO SMART they will actually sell you stuff based upon NOT Brittney! They know there is a small market who hates her image and market to your hatred!
It is a smaller market but it is the market for rebels too, which is why the rebels all look alike LOL. Ever heard of Goth? Someone makes that clothing and makes a profit off of it.

I agree this is a music forum and I only wanted to discuss the Beatles. I didn't want to get into a major argument. I wanted to talk about John Lennon's lyrics for crying out loud!

But I have seen a very sad degeneration in literacy among some young people here and felt I had to say what I think is right, and I have some knowledge in this area relating to the psychology of ambient aberrational behavior.

You will see I have not even one supporter in this thread and 20 opponents, but it wouldn't matter if I had a thousand or a million opponents I would say the same as I am saying.

It is my opinion and I have no desire to put anyone down. I am not trying to be a cop, or a know-it-all.

But I do not think it is first, right to use bad language in a public forum and second, I wish to point out the psychological complications for the persons doing so.
