i put up some of my pictures if anyone cares to see: http://photos.yahoo.com/phishcourtney04 also, i'd love to see other people's experiences! everyone share
i had a great time at my first bonnaroo, but i'll have to admit it will probably be my last. good times: lots o'headies and shrooms; fun people; ground scores!!!!; being around like-minded people; sitting at centeroo being thumped on three sides by the dead, primus and ween (ween was awesome!) all at the same time!; rain; kick downs; hot coffee; rocking the camper (sigh); slinging patchwork clothes; cheap and plentiful water. bad times: shin deep in bonnarreha (i understand the land right at centeroo used to be a pig slaughter house); losing people, the fucking heat during the day! (no wonder 2 people died!); fake acid; my car breaking down; nasty portalets; dog shit in my camp; did i mention the mud; no where to swim; being at centeroo fountain at hippie noon on friday and not being able to find any hip-forums people; being dissapointed in humanity that they would leave their camps in such a nasty state. anyway, i hear the whole dog-&-pony show has been sold to clear channel. next year it will be like woodstock 2000 and you can kiss slinging weed, cheap water and shakedown goodbye. see ya'll at nationals (maybe) and at smilefest (probably). loving you all!! if you pass through pensacola florida look me up. chime
Chime, i was at the meet up and couldnt find anyone. I hope ya do come to smilefest, it is so much fun, like a big family reunion without the aunts that pinch your cheeks and get lipstick all over your face!
dude! i saw your campsite! i thought "what a badass site. i bet it's someone from hipforums" and it really was!! awww too bad i missed you!
I didn't get to see anyone, but if anyone saw a short blonde chick in a big pink straw hat, that was me.
the music was unbelievable the freinds were great the mud was fun the wood chip soup was bearable the trash was uncalled for and totally wrong the buds were tops the rain was refreshing the rain was drowning the vibe was good the vibe was bad the potties were good the potties were bad but the music was unbelivable..............
haha...everyone kept saying they loved the flowers and we sold a few pb&j sammiches... we had a pretty sweet spot I think.. right next to the crazy pizza man... anyone buy pizza from him? it was *so* good! hey court! great pics! once I get mine up I'll link to them here.
All we had to eat was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, because I waited in the car while the guys went in to go shopping for supplies. They came out with two carts overloaded with beer, some flashlights, a bag of bread, and some peanut butter and jelly. They had enough beer to go to a frat party with humpback whales, but we almost starved. And I couldn't even enjoy it, because I don't drink. But Andrew bought me my pink hat so he could find me, since I'm little and there were so many people. He's sweet.
THERE WAS NO BIG MEET UP - NO ONE SHOWED CEPT ME GOODKARMA AND MIMOSA, GOTTA GET THE PICS WITH MIMOSA DEVELOPED B4 I POST EM!!
I got to the fountain 2 hours late because of traffic. I would go by the fountain from time to time to see if I could find anybody. I only saw 3 from the forums. Next year if we all go let's make the fountain meeting later in the afternoon.
Yeah....11:30 was kind of impossible. I didn't get there till 2:15 or something. I wish I could have met someone, though!! Anyone going to AllGood?
HEY!!!! i saw you =) i said hello, but i was so out of my mind, and relying 110% of the females i was following, i kinda ran off. thinking back on it, a second afterward, i didn't know wtf just happened. but it's all good!. i didn't want to lose them, so i was trying to keep an eye on them. the entire thing was surreal. you were the first and only person i met from the forum. i didn't know what to do, to say, muchless with a state of mind like i had at the time. i just saw that smile under the beard, and a big cob of corn, so i ran up to it and said hello. i too missed the fountain =(. the shuttle dropped me off 9 miles away! i had a goooood ol' 2-3 hour walk in the sun. getting my sweat on. but when i got there, i met up with the amigas, and it was all dynomite. i think i saw you the first day. i wish i got to see more people. that fountain meeting was definitely too early.
did anyone else come back from the dead to find their tent completely obliverated from the rain?! i dont think there was one harder thing in the world coming back completely soaked, coming down off a beautiful trip, tired and exausted (sp?) and finding yourself standing at a tent leveled to the ground. was anyone elses pillows and sheets COMPLETELY soaked? =(. how long do you think it took a guy and 2 girls, all coming down, to put up and dry a tent? =( thank goodness primus was funkin' us on. i also lost my bag the first day =(. i remember meeting up with friends with it on, i remember putting my bottle of water back in the bag, and.... the rest is a dream. a beautiful, but cloudy dream. =(. did anyone see anyone slip and fall in the mud? i'm not a cruel person... but i think it would have been grand to see at least one person eat it. AH! lastly! everyone who was there!!! the first night... during dave mathews... there was this guy behind me in the crowd... a large, blonde, curly haired kid who was ranting during the set. i thought he was HILARIOUS. did anyone else hear him?!?!?! gooooodness he had my sides splitting. it was so immature, but he was singing during some of the instrumental parts of songs, making up lyrics, being an annoying kid... but it was hilarious. he kept on saying "smoking doobie's to the face!" and "trippppin face". asking for a cigarette... just nonsense like that. he yelled out anytime the music broke down for a second, enough time inbetween for you to forget about him. goodness... i know he was ruining the show for many... but did anyone else hear him? did anyone else think it was funny? my sides were killing me. i almost hate the fact that i thought he was hilarious. who else heard him?!
HA! I know I looked so lovely standing in that rain with my hair all crazy and looking generally goofy, but I'm so glad I finally found you all. It was a great time. couldn't believe the crowd there, though, at the Dead when we left the front lines. the crowd went on forever. I went over to Primus eventually and waited for them all cold and wet, it was worth it though. then I missed Trey Sunday night when it rained again, I couldn't tolerate the mud anymore. Did see Femi Kuti, David Byrne and superjam before the Sunday rain though. I thought too, they should've put down straw or something, but some people enjoy the mud I guess. especially this one happy guy who was swimming in it by Which stage on Sunday afternoon. It was pretty treacherous in some spots though.
oh man, almost forgot the mud. did anyone's car get stuck =(. ours did. we wanted to head on out RIGHT after trey, sunday... we packed the tent sunday after waking, expecting to and all... we found ourself stuck in mud, and sleeping in the car sunday. having to pay 50$ to some guy in a chevy coming around helping everyone out. that man probably made at least a thousand that night.
