my fiance and i have already picked out some names: she insists on naming a boy "Gandalf Mithrandir" ,which i thought was the coolest thing ever. and for a girl; we want to name her Rosalie (haven't picked out a middle name yet)
Tell them plenty. My name is Jessica, and I hate it. There's always three Jessicas everywhere I go, and whenever someone calls out the name "Jessica" and I turn around, they're talking to someone else. So when I start to get frustrated and don't turn around, they're talking to me! Having a classic name is one thing, but having the same name half of the girls in America have is annoying. My parents where originally going to name me Hannah. I wish they did. Hannah is a pretty, Hebrew name, and I only know one other person with that name. I wouldn't mind being called Velvet, either. That's a cool name, and it's a lot less common. Okay, there's my rant.
I have exactly the same problem with my name. Everyone know someone with my name, it has huge nicknaming potential, and really doesn't suit me. Of course my parents were blissfully unaware of this when I was born. So after getting unbelievably sick of it, I found something else. Sage of course. It's rare, has no nicknames and just feels like it should be my name. Not sure if I'll go all out with deed poll, but when I start uni I shall introduce myself as Sage and phase it in.
I don't have any kids but, my siblings and I have unusual names. Me: December Aydon Brothers Kellen Quinlan(deceased) Zaka Larioux (after a voodoo loa) Sister Briony Chalice D
I've always loved the name Aiden Mitchell for a boy! Also for boys names I like Vegas and Dallas! For a girl I've always liked Poppy or Adriana. Dreama is also beautiful!
My fave is Ochean Freedom Bear but due to my over passivness Ochean became Micheal the Irish version of Michael. I still call him Ochean Bear.
I am 7 months pregnant and my child will either be Hendrix Ashbury if it is a girl or Asher Michael if it is a boy!

There are some beautiful Maori names - although the pronounciation is hard to spell, you really have to hear it. Anyway for girls: Moana (pronounced Mow-ah-na) it basically means water Aroha (aro-hah) It means love Hinemoa (hih-ney-mow-ah). She was a famous Maori woman - a daughter of a chief. Marama -(mah-ra-mah) I think someone told me it means moon, but I'm not sure Ngaire(ny-ree, also you spell the anglacised version Nyree). I think it means flaxen? boys, argh, I can't think of many. Rangi(rahn-ge) rangi is the god of the sky then theres the ones that translate - like Hemi is the version of James,
