Hey Matte.. I'm going to work on my hippie purse today. When I finish it.. how do I post a pic of it here? Upload to my forum gallery first or what?

I also have hippie maxi skirts that I've made from cutting off blue jeans and adding a long skirt. They're very easy to make if anyone is interested in learning how,. lemme know. I'll post a pic of one once I figure out how to post the pics.

  9. To me, a lot of this stuff seems more avant garde than hippie; things that Gaga might wear to an awards show or interview. That's fine, but I grew up in the seventies around people like these:

You could buy all that at JCPenney or K-mart and modify it a little or just slut it up by leaving a few buttons unfastened and putting your bra in your school locker, so your mom wouldn't know. Keds sneakers for girls were cool, after they came apart at the seams enough to show a couple of toes, maybe with a little help from a pocket knife or razor blade. New jeans had to be abused and patched before wearing to school.

  11. Can you imagine going to a public bathroom in that thing? :yikes:

Another authentic, inexpensive outfit from that era: blue jean dress that looks like bib overalls above the waist. Depending on the quality of the private party that night, you might remove your blouse and/or bra. Halter top can also be worn under it.

Hahaha I'm not sure I could even walk in that dress!

No, I haven't. I just saw that dress on Pinterest and thought it was adorable. Do they have a sizing chart with measurements somewhere on their site?

Some of their dresses seem to have size charts included. The reviews are pretty mixed though.

I don't like buying anything without great reviews.

Yeah me neither but the dress I want is like 15 bucks and there is no shipping so I'm thinking I might just take a chance. If it doesn't fit I'll add it to the donation pile and some tiny refugee will get a nice new maxi dress.

Bell bottoms i just adore them

    bell bottoms

Nicely flared pants are so feminine to me

Where bell bottoms makes a statement about yourself the flared pants are more girly and can make are real nice outfit

Forget hype and style be your own style
