I wanted to put this in the autism section. It relates to other groups too (including the mentally deficient). And this is a weird one, probably one most parents would never even think of. With medical problems, that make you show too much trust, like autism. Who to trust... When I was growing up, I was always told you can trust police. I am glad they told me that growing up, and I think that's still a fair general rule. Unless your in an interrogation room. Or being "detained". (Tell you kids, speeding ticket are exempted, unless you're "detained". Then tell them "ask", if the cop talks to you longer than 10 minutes. I guess. Parents, thoughts?) Tell your autistic, etc. kid when you're in that interrogation room, the policeman is definitely not your friend. "ASK FOR A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY", tell him or her. Still be polite, too. Tell them also. And don't panic or get angry. Tell them we'll be there shortly, to get you. I have never been arrested, etc. so my parents knew that about me, and they never told me that growing up. But the world of today? There are a lot news stories of tragedies that happened that way. Who would have thought about that?
