Let’s have some fun discussing the history of Australia.

So who discovered the Great Southern Land?

I’m sure we can discuss pre-European settlement and post-European settlement.

It was the 3 brothers from the outer atmosphere that discovered Australia, landed and sang 3 songs into the earth. The earth rumbled and formed into its representation.

To understand the aboriginals one must take a journey through the Dream Time :)

I find the distinction somewhat retarded

How do you "discover" a continent when there are already a million people living there

DNA mapping of Aboriginals didnt turn up anything, but that just might mean any early visitors didnt hang around for long enough or ended up lunch

DNA mapping of Dingos however suggest they came along with traders from Indonesia, Polynesia 10,000 years ago

Also reasonable evidence South American natives could have reached here thousands of years ago

So before Janzsoon or Cook there we probably 100s if not thousands of non aboriginal visitors to Australia

The aboriginals were never actually "native" to Australia, they migrated down from Indonesian and the Torres Straight most likely when the continents and islands were much more closer together after the cosmic frog drank all the water and then popped itself on the cosmic echidna of course hehe. :)

Australia may have been one of the later continents to actually have been inhabited with humans. The great sun God of Egypt, Amon Ra aka Marduk after being banished from Egypt was said to find a new home in the land with the red heart bringing with a new doctrine of religion which is, with no surprise, very similar to.. you guessed it.. Sumerian. :p much of the dream time was always pretty much that, the dream time to most people but the resemblance and consistancy patterns are still there like the rest of the known world, a network connection of that knowledge.

I have zero doubts that when Australia is properly explored we will find traces of an ancient civilisation nobody knew existed, it's probably just buried under sand and rock much like the sites in south Africa have been swept by what was most likely the great biblical flood, if my interpretations are correct and the south polar ice caps shifted into the water creating the flood, then Australia too is in direct firing line and all inhabitants there would have been swept away too.

This all ties in with the Northern hemisphere and why strictly important ancient archaeological site, bar southern America parts like Peru are generally found in the northern hemisphere when science claims that man originated in lower Africa. If the birth place of man was in the southern hemisphere then there ought to be something to show that. Well they're discovering that in southern Africa for a decade now and I strongly believe they'll find something similar in Australia one day.

The Tasmanian Aboriginals were not related to mainland Aboriginals. This comes up as trick question in Year 12 Biology exams. Another intriguing thing is Australian Aboriginals have blood types very similar to Europeans than south-east Asians. How weird is that?

Not weird at all when you consider that Australia was not a separate continent or island but part of Pangeia - a super continent that split apart when the tectonic plates moved.
