    Curiosity, Disgust, Hatred, Intrigue

    Yes

I’m drawn to things that should never be discussed in polite company.

I used to before I became interested in politics.

I’m more interested in politics than most people I know.

it's pretty funny that you call someone naive and then argue that voting makes a difference in the same post.

Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings.

Willful blindness gets me all riled up, though...

Sending some good vibes to counteract my previous dickishness :2thumbsup::love::daisy:

Feelings weren't hurt, I just didn't see the point on continuing the discussion......at that time.

Thanks for the good vibes, I can use them this morning :)

It is possible to consider the elections valid, but the government not. I can see how this can seem confusing, but the politicians lie through their teeth to earn votes, and once elected all their promises go out the window and they do not represent the people that voted for them.

It all comes down to point of view in this case. I don't think it's fair to guess ones feelings about government on the sole fact that they voted.

    Naive?

Well excuse me if I remain "naive" and I don't wait around some two to four years to vote, just so I can try to get my life back, like you do. My life is my own and is not up for vote.

If you wish, you can continue to put your life in the hands of some new hero you voted for but my guess is he won't treat you any better than the last guy you voted for did and that sounds just a bit naive to me. :)

I just don't care about any of the bull shit anymore. Its all a stupid show. And nothing but control. I don't know why anyone still believes that a vote makes a difference. I believe in freedom. Freedom is what we all should be focused on. And voting just brings more oppression.

I'm interested but only because they're all a bunch of criminals (except Ron Paul,) who should be tried for high treason.

    Is freedom limited or unlimited?

If limited, who defines the limits? Do you agree all with the limits?

How do you know when you're free?

Liberty, (freedom) is the idea that all men are created equal. It was these very beliefs that our country, and our movement was founded on. Sadly, that isn't the case anymore. We the people are supposed to have the right to regulate the government and be sure they don't disobey the constitution.

"We, the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution." Abraham Lincoln

So to be free is to be a leech on society?

Umm I love how you disregarded my response and jumped right to the "leach" scapegoat. Not to be rude but you are in a hippie forum, the idea is individualism. Our government has us captive in their idea of "freedom," which is just a big propaganda machine to feed the war pigs.

    For true freedom;

End the drug war and force the government to abide by the constitution. That is freedom to me. Our country was founded on these principles to protect us from tyranny. The current government has no idea what freedom truly is... Of course that wouldn't give you the right to steal or kill anyone, just to do whatever we want with our bodies that we so choose.

Isn't that and individuality what the hippie movement was about?

Umm I love how you don't realize that I am on the same side of this argument as you are, and that my comment didn't have anything to do with you.

True freedom is without governments. And yes life works without govenment. Ever heard of Native Americans?
    A tribal system.
Agriculture was the true end of freedom.

Sorry friend, I take offense to the word "leach" Cause "you know, we're all doing what we can." Sure, the girl didn't have the most intellectual response however, we all have different reasons for wanting freedom. I'm sure she knows that freedom isn't gonna pay her bills, but even if she doesn't, it's gonna be her problem when she's out on the street.
