yeah i have only read two pages of this.... but did anyone at all ever throw in THE SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE I sure hope someone threw that in along the way here....... for gods sake Im canadian and I know that...
Explain Please? Where did you EVER read the words 'Separation of Church and State' in American Constitutions or Amendments? I believe you CAN find that term in Canada's Charter (or is it the British North American Act?) But lets say the term 'Separation of Church and State' doesnt exist in any American Documents but DOES stand in principle. What DO YOU THINK THAT MEANS? I will give you a clue.. ..THAT WAS INVENTED BY DEVOTED CHRISTIANS and althought it INCLUDES ALL OTHER FAITHS... ..it was intended to PROTECT RELIGIONS and ENCOURAGE RELIGION WHERE EVER IT WANTED TO BE. Its near astonishing how many people think 'Separation of Church and State' actually 'somehow' means Religion is 'excluded' from any 'State' affairs or duties. It does NOT exclude Religion at all. Ok and that is that.
The only specific mention is in the constitution, Article VI, Section III:"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." Here's a great link for the separation of church and state debate, probably the most complete one on the web: http://members.tripod.com/~candst/tnppage/tnpidx.htm
No test should be given. Yet Christians know which members of each party support their moral views. Because of this, we will continue to vote out of office men we believe are immoral, and replace them with men that are. The last presidential election was an example of this. Christians choose between the two evils and found in Bush a man who would take a stand against abortion. And Bush was the first President to sign into law a bill that would ban late term abortions. The Republicans took the high ground when they went to war to end slavery, and they are now taking the high road again to end abortion.
Do you actually think it's going to do any good? Even several republicans have gone on record as saying there's no way a nominee for the supreme court that's likely to overturn roe vs. wade will get senate approval. Just like the 1st bill to ban late term abortions got struck down as being unconstitutional. Is the attempt to ban abortion worth the wars we're waging? If more people with Bush's mindset get elected after him (if we even last that long), I think this preemptive war on terror will dwarf those abortion statistics, if they don't outright cause the last world war.
Men............ how about replacing them with a group of women instead? It is something worth trying. Laws must protect against religious discrimination, and though governments should have no religious bias, the people governing us always will. So, I hope that the acceptance, respect, and equality of all faiths is firmly protected by our governments. Whether the politicians are atheists, Muslims, Jews, or whatever, they must be able to govern fairly and impassionately. And to treat all people of all faiths the same.
America has murdered 40 million of it's own citizens with no end in sight. If you read bible prophecy you will know this nation is going to be destroyed by northern nations. Are cities will burn and America will come to her end according to scripture in one hours time. It is because we are an evil people God will allow this to happen. The best Christians can do is to try and stop the killing mills.
If you mean abortions, I feel that is not even in the top ten reasons why we would be annhilated. If we are to be wiped out, then good, serves us right. Greedy, self-righteous, manipulative knowitalls that we are.
Well the reason you would not put abortion in your top ten, is because you donot value human life. It appears human life is pretty low on your priority list. In the bible God always punished nations that murdered it's children. God does not look kindly on people who harm the innocent. People who support abortion are in God's cross hairs, and someday will have to give an accounting for their actions. The bible states it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Since my belief is that any person, no matter their faith, has just as much right to live as me, I view you as valuing human life less than I do. in God's cross hairs, huh, well then why is he not pulling the trigger?
Oh I see everyone has as much right to live as you except when the childs mother decides to murder her child. Then it is ok for her to murder her child. It is her right to murder. And I know you say you are against abortion, yet you would not cast a single vote to stop this evil procedure would you. God will call us at His timing. Some of us will be called home, others will be sent away.
I called it a necessary evil. If being called home means that I would be with you, I hope to be sent away. I don't jump for joy at the concept of abortion. It is a tragic loss of life, that I feel is not for me to judge, especially since I can never get pregnant.
Only in our generation has this country felt that it was a necessary to murder 1 million kids a year. The people who practice this evil will burn in hell because they have shed innocent blood. Evil is only necessary when the people themselves are evil. If you consider this a tragic loss of life why don't you try and stop it? I will tell you why, because it is no big thing to you. Murder is always a tragedy, yet it's made worse when people see it happen and look the other way. Yes, you don't want to be judgemental, so let the butchers crack open the children's heads and suck out their brains. Let them rip off their legs and arms and toss the kids in the dumpsters. As for us, we need to be silent. We don't want to appear judgemental. What a truly evil nation we have become.
we all have our cross to bear, don't we? I repeat, bring on the apocalypse. I wish you would quit telling me why I think what I do though. You cannot know that. Just as I cannot know why you feel as you do.
No I don't have a cross to bear. Jesus did that for me. And I know you would not vote to end abortion. I do know that. Because a womans right to murder her unborn child is more important to you, than the life of that child. I know that to.
40 Million abortions in the last 20 years, or 40? It's alot, and I'd love to do something to reduce those numbers. I'm not for abortion as a means of birth control. I'm sure that means absolutely nothing to you, though. And I've thoroughly studied Biblical prophesy, and no, I do not know that we are going to be destroyed by northern nations. I'll start paying a little more attention to that when Israel actually begins rebuilding the Temple. It's unimportant, really. I don't think the most fascinating thing about the Bible is it's accuracy with prophecy. I think the message it contains on how to treat other people, and yourself is of far greater importance. Instead of spouting off about abortion, why not try and do more for people dying of famine? America alone can feed every person in the world, and then some. In the last 40 years, approximately 480 million people have died from famine. That, imo, is a true travesty.
There is enough food in the world to feed everyone.. ..and there are enough donations to get it there. The problem with famines is not for lack of foreign aid, charity or good intentions - its political and social. and yes I agree.. its a travesty.
If half the outrage that is focused on abortion were redirected toward the countries that hinder that aid, and we pressured those countries governments; we could do something it.
When they are murdering people in your own back yard you have to start fighting the evil where you stand. Spouting off about abortion? Like I said you could care less about these kids. The message of the bible has a lot more to do with how you treat God, and the prophecies only reveal the bibles credibility. People like you use to say that when the Jews return to their land then they would pay more attention to the prophecies. Yet when the Jews did return, they said that was predictable.
