Well, it was only 27 times.

I heard a Republican Senator on Meet the Press a few months back arguing that it was good to create a mess in Iraq because it supposedly attracted al Qaeda and now we can fight them in Iraq instead of someplace else.

I didn't tape the show and don't remember which Senator it was. But it shows the desperation of the few remaining people who are supporting the Bush doctrine.

I don't think this is something that will be broadcast as much as the Iraq war.

something more secretive, under the publics nose.

America is basically acting as the agressor against Iran already. many aggressive moves aren't being reported.

It was not the only part of the speach they showed - the firemen were laughing with him not at him - some can be heard cheering Bush and saying something like ''go get em'' or something alomg those lines. Your suggesting the firemen were mocking him and did not agree with what he was saying - this is not true.
A more wrong interpretation of that event could not be made.

There are four or five generals and admirals we know of who would resign if Bush ordered an attack on Iran,” a source with close ties to British intelligence said. “There is simply no stomach for it in the Pentagon, and a lot of people question whether such an attack would be effective or even possible.”

A British defence source confirmed that there were deep misgivings inside the Pentagon about a military strike. “All the generals are perfectly clear that they don’t have the military capacity to take Iran on in any meaningful fashion. According to a report in The New Yorker magazine, the Pentagon has already set up a working group to plan airstrikes on Iran. The panel initially focused on destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities and on regime change but has more recently been instructed to identify targets in Iran that may be involved in supplying or aiding militants in Iraq.

However, army chiefs fear an attack on Iran would backfire on American troops in Iraq and lead to more terrorist attacks, a rise in oil prices and the threat of a regional war.

Britain is concerned that its own troops in Iraq might be drawn into any American conflict with Iran, regardless of whether the government takes part in the attack.

One retired general who participated in the “generals’ revolt” against Donald Rumsfeld’s handling of the Iraq war said he hoped his former colleagues would resign in the event of an order to attack. “We don’t want to take another initiative unless we’ve really thought through the consequences of our strategy,” he warned.

Ralph Peters has a newspaper opinion colum in the N Y Post.

He is hardly a secret person.

The map shows the teritorry of Turkey being compromised by Kurdistan which is contrary to his published opinions.

It was not the only part of the speach they showed - the firemen were laughing with him not at him - some can be heard cheering Bush and saying something like ''go get em'' or something alomg those lines. Your suggesting the firemen were mocking him and did not agree with what he was saying - this is not true.
A more wrong interpretation of that event could not be made.

Yes, the firemen were mocking him, at least some of them. That's why the U.S. media didn't show it. Some of the journalists who were there have mentioned this from time to time. The U.S. media only showed a few seconds at the end when he was on the megaphone, which was the best part for Bush.

You said some were mocking him by saying ''we can't hear you''.
If that was the same mocking the other reporters were commenting on - then it was mocking him but in a friendly way.
The overall picture seems to have been support for him and a fairly patriotic response.
I doubt your going to say anything bad against the firemen - so I do not blame you for picking up on a bit of a tenuous point about them mocking him.
Get the criticism where you can eh ?.
I'm sure there were reporters commenting on the ''mocking''.
If you find any articles - I bet they are talking about the same thing and the same footage as we are here.

I'll take your word for it - I vauguely remember it being reported on the news and I can't find it with out a little bit more info.
I'm sceptical about the way you have phrased it but i'm not going to argue over something I can't fully remember. if the tone and phraseing is correct - yes he is does need to seek some help. i can sort of see what he may have been attempting to say - it just seems he has no tact or diplomacy at all.
