Because the term "like gods" means nothing to us.

I would like to see a man go rule a polar bear with his bare hands. That would be interesting to see.

Dont mistake collateral environmental damage done by mankinds selfish pursuits to be anything but that. mankind will destroy itself eventually.

I love that, I really do like heated debates.
The point about debating is that you should not take it personally. Just defending your opinion.

But I find it so ridiculous. Everyone gets so uppity about terms and words and definitions...and fuck it. Let people live. Why does every action need to be analyzed and fought over?

Why do i care what others believe? good question, on one hand, honestly, i dont give shit what others believe i just can't sleep so i am giving my opinion on the subject at hand.

Also, again honestly, it is important what my fellow humans believe because as much as i may or may not like to deny it, i am connected to humanity in a way that cannot be severed.

Certainly there are idiotic ways to practice idiotic beliefs and sound and reasonable ways to practice idiotic beliefs but still i cannot shake my disgust at those that would claim enough understanding of the universe that they can disrepute all knowledge that has been handed down to us regarding spirituality.

I know many people who term themselves 'atheist' don't concern themselves with 'God' at all, which is fine, limited but none the less fine. However many people who term themselves 'athiests' fundamentally believe that there is nothing beyond what they can comperhend and this annoys me.

It annoys me in the same way that some one may tell me that the 'Bible' is the whole truth or the 'Koran' is the whole truth because these people will tell you there is no truth to found what so ever.

It is just as arrogant to say you know there is no 'God' as it is to say that you know 'God'. Really what i am saying is that people that hold these beliefs seem to be as dogmatic as any religion, sure i don't believe the bible, but it doesn't mean there isn't any truth to found.

Atheism is not a religion you stupid fuck.

Religion - A religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally held by a human community, involving adherence to codified beliefs and rituals and study of ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience.

Because that is partly the fun of it. I rather have people fighting a heated debate than fighting physically. If everyone just knew where to draw that line....

You've said a whole bundle there, actions and words are two very different things.

Well I agree with you whole heartedly my dear.

I am intensely spiritual, but know (or dont know) that I know nothing.

Never debate with people who have to lower themselves to namecalling and personal attacks.

Well you are rather a perfect example for my above quote...

but if you really want to analyze my statement, it was written in haste by a hungover woke up too early person. So yeah, im sure it has alot of gravity.

Actions and words ARE incredibly different, but I am speaking actions in terms of practising their individual faith. I am not going into fine details such as spilling over into a hotbed of those who negatively pursue faith. (Demeaning others for being different etc)

That pretty much sums up my disgust at some forms of 'Atheism', it is one thing not to believe, it is another to demean me for finding meaning/knowledge in something that said atheist may not believe.

I understand. I also find personal meaning in many a thing, and I have a certain friend who is snobbishly athiest, and can really be so so negative about what I find enlightening for myself...

But anyone can be negative about anything....

I will not associate myself with labels

    fixed.

Atheists don't have a "belief" there is no god(s). That is making a positive claim, you can't disprove something that has never been proven to exist in the first place. You either have a "belief" that there are green people on venus, or you don't.. if you don't, you lack the belief. amirite?

We LACK belief of god(s) until proven otherwise. Just as you lack the belief of the green people on venus.

In religious terms it is up to you to believe in god(s) or not.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything, but what exactly are "religious terms".. do they have their own dictionary now or something that I don't know about?
