(and the problem isn't asange. he isn't trying to run the world into the ground, but he did have something to do with why we have the one who is. which is not itself a crime for him, asange, and his arrest certainly seems to be based mostly, on the kind of technicalities, dictators use to remain in power) a problem of blatant, in everyone's face, breaking of what most of us thought were laws, and anyone else of us would be doing hard time for. and that of a person (human? male?) elected to the most powerful office on the planet. (on a technicality that did not represent an overwhelming majority of popular support) a person who's financial assets are entirely 'leverage' (which means credit borrowed against credit), the only visible collateral for said credit, being the russian mafia. partially directly, and partly through real estate partnerships as well as purchases. and that person's alliance with a perspective, which is blatantly and almost universally harmful, and completely illogical.
As an individual he's a horrible person. He should get extradited for his rape charges. But he should absolutely not be charged for his involvement in Wikileaks.

They're not rape accusations, they're rape charges. He's wanted for rape. But I know in america you can even film yourself raping and not get charged. So I'm sure you wouldn't understand.
I thought it was still uncertain if he has raped or not: He's wanted for rape charges/possible rape. I agree it should be taken seriously (naturally). But not that we can already convict him of it. There's still the possibility it was primarily a tactic to get him out of the embassy (certainly for the average person who only hears/read about it in the news), or so I thought. What convinced you he has actually done it?

U.S. District Judge Anthony Trenga ordered her to remain incarcerated at the Alexandria jail either until she agrees to testify or until the grand jury's term expires in 18 months. He also imposed fines that will kick in at $500 a day after 30 days and $1,000 a day after 60 days. Manning already spent two months in jail for refusing a previous subpoena to testify to a grand jury investigating Wikileaks.
