Physical attraction is part of any relationship. Sure, inward beauty is important, but it is not everything. Sometimes people let their bodies go and the physical part of the relationship becomes slightly diminished. Asking your significant other to maintain their body isn't a bad thing.

    Why?

Maybe this article is a JOKE. Everyone else is doing long-winded super-serious write-ups, and these guys decided for a laugh to write something totally shallow and stereotypical while shoehorning a little history in there.
You're going to judge the entire site and all of its writers and everyone who ever worked there, and every article on the whole site is designed to degrade women and tear down what we've worked so hard to accomplish all these years and we'll never be able to do enough to free ourselves from the bondage of wah wah wah.
    Bullshit. Take a joke.
I'm gonna start telling dead baby jokes up in this mofo...

So every time we hear about a woman that made a great contribution, that's ALL we can talk about. That's IT. No other discussion. Just wow, what a marvelous contribution. End of discussion.
    Censorship is a drag...

So, these jobs shouldn't exist? This shouldn't be a choice because sometimes people feel "forced" into it?
This is mind-control- straight up. This whole post. The message is, men aren't allowed to notice you're pretty and if you let them, you have poor self-worth and the men are pigs.
Personally, I am sexually conservative, because that is where I feel comfortable, but my BELIEFS are sexually liberal, and I believe in a right to do with your body as you choose. I would think you would agree with that, but everything in this seems to be poured into one agenda- desexualizing women into androgynous creatures who are only recognized for their work ethic.
I am proud of my sexuality as well as the Biology degree I'm getting in the spring. I don't see why we have to be strictly cerebral to be equal. That just doesn't make sense to me.

I totally agree. I see myself as a feminist but i didnt find that article thingy offensive. It seemed to me what was sexy about the women were their achievements/strength etc

    I'm with you.

I just find it odd how many people have complained that the site is degrading to women when it is obviously targeted at men. I'm sure there is a website out there with "10 ways to tell your man his penis is to small." Honestly, that's the same thing as "10 ways to tell your woman she is getting to fat."

Some people here need to develop thicker skin.

If something's degrading,it's degrading no matter who it's targeted at. But this site is really not that bad. We should be saving our energy for the things that are really harmful. Usually, if I see something degrading I get angry. But, to be honest, this made me laugh more than anything

I don't agree with this, though. I would never dream of asking my other half that, just as he wouldn't. When you're in a loving relationship, the outside becomes insignificant-the eye of the beholder and all that. The only way it would diminish our relationship would be if we both put on 20 stone and could only make 1 position weeble sex

Saying inward beauty is the only important thing is just like saying outward beauty is the only important thing. If I was in a relationship, and my girl friend/wife began to think "Now that I have someone that loves me, I can quit maintaining my body" I'd be upset. Not because I believe outward beauty is everything, but because that's downright selfish on her part. Me saying "I would like you to maintain a runway model frame" is downright selfish on my part, but saying "I would appreciate it if you could attempt to maintain your current body because I find it beautiful and I appreciate it" isn't selfish, it's part of the relationship.

Relationships that rely completely on inward beauty fail and relationships that rely completely on outward beauty fail. There needs to be a balance.

    Hahaha...
Seriously, though, if we really want to get into it, not only is this article you posted degrading to men, but the one posted by the OP is as well, since it seems to imply that the only way to get men to pay attention to history is to say "hey, guys! look at these hot chicks! let's oogle their goodies and that will make learning fun!"
It definitely goes both ways. Just because there is still a glass ceiling doesn't man we get to trample down the other sex in an attempt to elevate ourselves. Then, it becomes a question of whether the agenda is equality or superiority. :toetap05:

The images in my mind...

I think true equality will come through a recognition of differences then eventual respect of those differences. The band aid fixes that we use to feign sexual equality aren't fixing the underlying problems that riddle our society.

The movement to remove all differences between the sexes is ridiculous.

It's like the pseudo-belief that only white people can be racist. It's bad for me to call a black man a ****** but if he calls me a honkey it's all good. Same book different cover.

put like that, I have to agree, but what happens as you get older? Does the relationship fall apart because you dont look the same as you did 20 years ago? I see what you're saying, but the outward appearance of the wo/man i love just isn't that important to me.
