hi guys, i'm travelling to the states next month for the first time, i will stay there for 20 days, so could u tell me where should i go in the eastern part of the US? thank you.
New York City obviously, it's like nothing you've ever seen if you're from Switzerland. Also Boston is a really cool city. Be sure to catch a baseball game at either Yankee Stadium in New York or Fenway Park in Boston. As far as non-city things, The Green Mountains in Vermont are beautiful as is Acadia National Park in Maine. There way too many things worth seeing to list here, let me know if you want more info on anything in particular. Alex
Where exactly in the eastern US are you going? The eastern seaboard is huge so there are plenty of good beaches. Some of my favorite beaches are Crane's Beach which is north of Boston (I think it's in Ipswitch, but I could be wrong), Cape Cod which is south of Boston but can get kinda touristy, Chincoteague Island in Virginia, and Tybee Island in Georgia. The Outer Banks in North Carolina are supposed to be really pretty too, but I've never been there. I would definitely suggest going to Boston, NYC, and Washington DC. Washington is pretty interesting if you like museums because the Smithsonian is great.
Philadelphia is a nice city too-good day trip for me. I think the best place to see the beach is in NJ (mostly because I live in NJ) Cape May is at the very bottom and is a very nice area. If you want amusement rides-Wildwood and Seaside Heights have lots. Island Beach State Park is just before Seaside so you can be on the beach during the day and on the boardwalk at night. Have a FUN! d
OH...Ocean City Maryland is a very nice place too and you can see the Assateak (sp) Ponies in the park walking around loose. I had a great time in May. d
Assateague Island. remanants of wrecked galleons, the story goes. nice story but I'm not sure. not very many Spanish horse features left in the herd, which is isolated and somewhat inbred.
