Still wearing my first pair of Birks that I bought about 15 years ago. Granted, they've been repaired/resoled but they're still alive and kicking! Of all my Birks, my first are my favourite!

my hair is down to my bra strap in the back, and almost as long in the front. had 3-4 inches cut off 2 months ago but wish I hadn't

Some women can pull it off, but I generally don't find it attractive (even on those who can pull it off). It's just not my bag baby.

I dont think I would call it a moral obligation, but they should give back to the community where they live. Its in their own best interest really.
