Yes, Valencian paella when my uncle cooks it with firewood and it is the reason for a Sunday family meal. At those meals, my grandmother never tires of hugging and kissing me and I never tire of her affection.

Have you been to the UK?

 

Yes, on several occasions, but my special memory is when I finished reading "Brideshead Revisited, the Sacred and Profane Memories of Capt. Charles Ryder" by Evelyn Waug, then watched the TV series (not the film, it's awful) and wanted to see the place where the series was filmed. It was a fascinating trip with mum, and I read passages from the book in the shadow of Castle Howard, a fascinating experience.

Recipes don't work, you have to eat paella in Valencia on a terrace by the sea. You can't get that from a recipe.

Who do you admire most?

 

My mother. When the man she thought was her love got her pregnant, she demanded an abortion to stay with him. Mom refused and is a single mother. She has taken care of me and has continued to train as a doctor, often going to work at the hospital and sleeping for two hours because my cries at night have kept her awake. She has taught me her ethics, her morals, she has educated me and she is my safe harbour when Life is an untamed storm. I love her as a mother, I admire her as a woman and she is my reference to study, even though my mother is a doctor and I prefer law. There is also my family, especially my grandmother, her ancient mind only understands, father, mother and children and as I don't have a father she thinks she should make up for that love, so she always hugs me a lot and never tires of kissing me. Everyone says I'm her favourite granddaughter.

Tonight dinner with friends, a relaxed dinner, talking about projects, studies, anecdotes and jokes born from the confidence of knowing each other for a lifetime, taking advantage of the time even without exams. Then dancing, until the energy of our bodies is exhausted.
