    god it still gets on my nerves they don't know what a proper biscuit is over here ... you'd think it was something complex to figure out

    actually, i said very american society around bases. i have 3 neices born off base in germany and raised in italy.

    it is simply brilliant .. one of Molly's best. :) just need more natural-born Yanks to respond to the questions, like myself for instance. :)

    Well I never knew that:eek: It's mentioned halfway down the page here that American biscuits are almost identical to scones: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biscuit

    Though according to the landmark Jaffa Cake ruling of 1991, everyone knows that biscuits go soft when stale - scones definitely go hard. The UK may well be the only country in the world which has a legal definition of a biscuit:D Don't it make yer proud?:)
