Congrats dreaded folks, I'm typing something back. I created my account expecting useful (dread) knowledge with just a few drops of smart-assed closed-mindedness, you know, for flavor. Hmm... Should I move on!?!? Sarah_again, I quoted you in hopes that I could make a similar point with the same... I guess the word I am looking for is "class." You were/are my muse. Anyway, I do have a question for you. Halfrican. How do you feel about white people having dreads? Cultural appropriation? I assume such a simple and obvious question has been asked in the past. Even if you personally answered it I would rather you answer it now in the context of this thread.
Say What??? You mean you haven't looked through all the threads relating to locks that are on here? Otherwise if you have any questions just start a thread ... and then get bombed for asking something that already has been in the past ... hahaha ... seriously though, I doubt there is anything about locks that hasn't been covered already.
I honestly don't care about race. It doesn't matter, since all races have cultures with dreadlocks in them at some point or another. As long as they aren't uni-dreads...Those creep me out.
DonBK, I understand that most knowledge and/or wisdom can be obtained silently. Much of the philosophy that I live my life by is based on that fact. Hence my reading many threads without responding since (in my opinion) I had nothing to contribute. SethHasDreads asked a question earlier in this thread "what is a ******?" That question might (not) have been in good taste but I am not in a position to make that call. The reason I asked the question about cultural appropriation was to invoke the obvious response "I'm not racist." dreadlocksftw, I'll start with this part: Black people just don't get it. How does that feel? Savor it for a moment. Black people just don't get it. It sounds racist to me. As a matter of fact it sounds equally racist to the sentence "white people just don't get it." However racist you feel the sentences are I have no doubt you will agree that they are equally racist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_privilege There exists black, white, Asian (and many more) privilege(s), I doubt I need to give examples of any. So, black privilege... part of that is the socially acceptable use of the word ******/nigga? That just seems insignificant and absurd. Moving on: White people just don't get it. I will type this sentence several times changing it slightly each time. I believe you will find the less racist it becomes the more accurate it becomes. White people just don't get it. Most white people just don't get it. Some white people just don't get it. Some people just don't get it.
I had the impression that beaver tails were simply flat dreads. Uni-dread seems to make more sense. I have a few flat dreads, I guess I need to find a new name for them.
LOL Mot. In primary school we had a "mot box" in every class. Every time you had a spare penny it was common courtesy to put it in the mot box. Mot was some kid in Africa.
LOOOOL!! I actually remember a huge assembly because "Mot" had sent us some pictures and hand and footprints. Wonder if they still have the mot box. He must be 26 or so now. Ahhhhh Memories.
ahahah ahh yes. Still 'loling' at the name Mot you think the money would have gone towards a village or something. Mot backwards spells 'Tom' defiently was a teacher

Mr Gilhooly! ha! he sounds like a right champion. I had a teacher in primary school called Ms.Sumner We called he Ms.Moustacheo though.. she had an epic mo
Oh he was! He'd always give you a humourous lecture that fifty year old men can't keep climbing ladders to retrieve footballs for us young whippersnappers. He secretly enjoyed it though, being the school hero. Miss moustacheo. Epic. We had Mrs Brittan with a 'tash. But she was just Mrs Brittan because she was the size of Britain
