As Long As It Doesn't Hurt Others?

Most people here would probably say people can do whatever they want as long as they're not hurting others.

So Is okay to do sexual acts that don't hurt others like say, peeping at someone who doesn't know you're looking? Cheating? Or molesting someone while they're dead asleep if they'll never know? Is it okay to clean the toilet with the American flag?

 

Cheating, peeping and molesting people wether they are aware of it or not is not ok of course. Even if it doesn't hurt them as long as they don't know. I'm sure if you place yourself in the perspective of the victim and consider what you think about trust you will agree.

If I had an american flag I would always clean the toilet with it. I bet it feels awesome and how would it hurt somebody directly. Sure some people might get their proverbial panties in a twist when taking notice of it but that is entirely ok. Being hurt by others and feeling butthurt yourself because you took notice of something are 2 different things.

 

First practical use of the American flag I've heard so far, or indeed any flag. I suppose in theory they could also be used for strangling politicians.

Like I said in the case of cheating or molesting someone that really does not matter. Peeping might be a slightly less serious concern in some cases but not all. I guess there it depends on the person peeped on (sp? )

People who excuse cheating on their (supposed significant) other with the idea that it is ok as long as (s)he doesn't know about it can be described as 'morally retarded' Maybe some people will only understand this after they get a call from an ex about an STD.

I think one must feel compassion not just for the oppressed or victim, but for the oppressor or perpetrator as well. Both are victims in a sense.

The sexual predator is also influenced by diabolical psychological tendencies created by his environment. A child who grows up watching perverse porno tapes may have a chance of becoming a sexual predator later on.

 

You could say that about a lot of things though, like drinking or sex.

Any form of non consensual sex, or using another person for pleasure without their consent or even knowledge in the case of fondling the unconscious or voyeurism, is certainly bad for the perpetrator.

Whilst I agree that often both abused and abuser are victims, I still think that such things are to be regarded as blameworthy. Often some form of psychological therapy might be more appropriate than punishment in cases of that kind. But still, not everyone who gets abused goes on to abuse others, so a balance is needed between recognizing a person has problems for which they are not responsible, and protecting society from such people.

 

Well for one there's always a chance the victim could find out, wake up, whatever.

The victim of Brock Turner wrote a piece on how she felt after waking up and learning what happened to her, I recommend reading it if you don't understand why molesting an unconscious person is wrong.

But even if they never find out, you're infringing on their right to make their own choices.

as for non consensual sex or for that matter casual sex that does not have care and concern for both parties it is like fucking a nun or worse killing one you are abusing something that was intended to be sacred. it doesn't matter who you have sex with (within your own species for health reasons) it matters why and for what purpose only Mosaic Law and Paul condemned gay sex and for the early jews it was the equivalent of eating a pork chop it was an abomination for paul his main concern was that it was unnatural then why do so many animals engage in samesex actions and even pair bonding? even the christ didn't mention gay sex only abusive sex he even forbid divorce except in the case of adultery where in the US is the highest rate of divorce?

if you see some one suffering for what ever reason and you say" it's their fault that they are suffering you are right but it is also your fault that you don't care that they are suffering and do nothing end it in the most caring way in your ability.
