I do not follow Christ. I am completely absorbed by that One. There is only Christ. I relate to you and all existence this way.

Do you mean the personification/ideals of Christ, or the actual person Jesus of Nazareth (the human body version)?

Any Christian who has to inform me that they are.

What that first sentence refers to is when Jesus told the apostles they could not follow him. It is a reference to being one in Christ. Being one means there is no one to follow, all that appears to me is Christ. The body/mind lives every conscious experience through the Holy Spirit, in every moment, forever.

But, I only gave that follow up, because it seems I would have been explaining this in the next post.

True Teachings based on what sources? Do you have a link to someplace I can check out this book...Amazon?

Your quotation from Hebrews, followed by a statement of Paul's theology suggests otherwise.

The Resurrection Testament volume 1 (Enbrightenment of Christ)

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=jared+j+kimble&x=0&y=0"]This was published in 04 (apparently the link does not work - if you really want to confirm this - go to amazon and search for this author - Jared J. Kimble), after some problems, the book was unpublished until Dec. 2010. This is the second edition, and it has not made it to the Amazon line up yet, it is currently being submitted, and will be available from there shortly.

I admit the proximity, and the comment appeared that way. Please forgive me for this miscommunication. It was not intended to be like that. Once again I am sorry.

This all turns out to be a sales pitch? I think there are forums where you can sell your wares. I don't know if that is appropriate in this one.

Being an accomplished master means never having to say you're sorry.

Are these the things you are sick of as a christian then?
You are brilliant with your satire but kind of a one trick pony.

Except when, in the Gospel according to St Joohn, he wept at the news of the dead Lazarus.

I can also imagine Jesus being quite frustrated with his disciples in the Gospel according to St Mark (one such scene that comes to mind is immediately after Jesus miraculously feeds thousands, the disciples worry about not having enough food).

Many Christians do this because they feel that it is a requirement for their faith (if you say out loud, etc). My neighbor and I once had a conversation and out of the blue he mentioned he believed in Jesus. I was taken back a bit mostly because I didn't expect it, but I knew why he said it.

I actually have no issue with a situation as you describe.

I have an issue with "people" who feel the need to constantly remind people how Christian they are, when their own actions often leave a very different impression.

No that is not what I meant. I was referring to your comment in relation to the title of the thread, but in all fairness I noticed you posted a comment in another thread that didn't involve you railing against abrahamic religion, So I am not accurate with my characterization.

Two things annoy me in particular. These are: 1. Protestants who do not believe (or realize) that Catholics ARE Christians and 2. People who claim that the King James Bible is the last word on Christianity...and I encounter this more than one might think. A lot of people really don't seem to know that it is only one translation (these are often the same people who say a prayer before a meal...in old English - as if God expects words like thee, thou and thy and will not accept modern speech). Trivial, yes...but annoying.

First Baptist Church here in town flies two flags on the same flag pole. The flag flying from the top of the pole is the American flag - under that flies the Christian flag. I don't know if the Christian flag has any sort of official status - but what happened to God & Country. This insinuates that they honor country 1st and then Christ. That burns me to no end and has for years. If my church did that I would be out of there.

What pisses me off is that more people that call themselves Christians are more likely to follow Leviticus to the word, but will not follow this:

"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned."
    Luke 3:36-7

"You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things."
    Romans 2:1

"“Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye."
    Luke 3:41-2

"Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ."
    Ephesians 4:32

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged."
    Matthew 7:1

WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE EACH OTHER.
Gay, straight, prostitute, nun, we all have our own journey, and we ALL are sinners no matter what path we choose. Presuming to know how God will judge someone is ARROGANCE and an affront to my Father. Your silly little intentions won't save you. If you judge someone for their lifestyle, you open yourself up to the same scrutiny, and there is NO ONE on this earth that is without sin. Followers of Christ, do you love Him enough to heed his most important lesson?:

"But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
    John 8:7

God help me, I am ashamed. I am guilty of judging you who judge, and that makes me a hypocrite, but I can't tolerate this hatred. Believe what you want, you will anyway, but keep it in check. Remember the words you profess to love so much or what good are you to Him? Just a bad example to be disregarded. Destroying peoples' lives over your faulty interpretation, over your REFUSAL of Christ's own lessons. It makes me sick that my Christian brothers abuse our name like this.

Thank you. I just dealt with some bullshit and had to get it off my chest. The sermon last Sunday used many of these and I went looking and found more. It's amazing how some of the things that are harped on the most occur so infrequently throughout the Bible and yet this one common theme is all through it and people pay it no heed. It's just blatant disrespect for your own faith to act like you know God's mind and will. You don't. Mind your own damn business. That's what Jesus preached. If everyone cleaned up their own house before trying to clean up each other's all the time, we'd get a hell of a lot more done.

You lined up everything so nicely, I'll be able to refer some of those ppl I know who sooooo enjoy judging to these exact points. :)
