artistic nudity, or is it just porn?

Im just wondering what you people think, Is their such a thing as artistic nudity. Or is it just people trying to give porn industy a good name.

I mean a lot of what seems to be passed off as artfull photography would have been considered porn only 50 years ago.

Well, I totally believe that there is nudity done tastefully in art. The body is natural. Porn is porn, nothing else.

Porn is just porn.Nothing else.I went to that web site and i must say it was done in tast.I think the human dody is one of the greatst works of art myself.

 

well after much research on that site I have concluded while there is such a thing as nude art (I normally consider it to be more along the lines of paintings and drawing of a nude model) and that the site was done tastefully I site think its porn. Not that I have any problem with porn.

I tend to think of paintings and drawings more as beeing art. but I consider thoe photos as in between art and porn, becasue its not really eather.

I dont think of it as porn as thier is no sex in thoes photos. though any guy who say they are not sexuall is probably blind.

 

I guess that all depends on one's point-of-view.
If you look at it as porn, it's porn.
If you look at it as art, it's art.

someone might really just think its a beautiful piece of art..

someone else might think its beautifulm and get off on it.

 

Art is creative expression.
When you see or hear it, it evokes an emotion or feeling.
Horny, can be an emotion and a feeling!

Most, "porn" isn't really very "artistic" because it is just recording something happening. Not creative expression.

But, sometimes through an artists eye, and talent, "porn" as you call it, can be expressed in a very creative way. And it doesn't have to be "tastefull" either.

A beautiful sunset, the majesty of a ocean storm, a child at play, should have no higher a status as a subject of atistic expression than anything else in nature. Especially the one thing that makes it possible for us to be alive to enjoy all those things. And that's sex and sexuality.

 

I noticed the vast majority of the photgraphers/artists on that site where male, so its a verry male biased site. This would probably explain why 99% of the photos on that website are of femails though.

It's funny you posted this...I was just looking through my nude art book that I bought like 6 years ago for my drawing. It's so amazing to look at them and if you're an artist you see all the shading, lines, etc. Also I am one to believe that the human body is beautiful. I'm not fond of porn one bit, but nude art I am. HUGS

 

Nudity can be very artistic, and very tasteful. But the weird thing is I don't even know my own definition of pornography.

 

I think that the female body is one of the most beautiful things on the planet.

And no, Im not just talking from my pants, I mean it.

 

Personally I wouldn't consider it porn. I went to the site and yes, the pictures are artistic, and there is nothing wrong with admiring the human body as long as it doesn't lead to vulgarity.

 

beach bum makes a good point.. define art and porn and then we can have a basis for discussion.. however that is almost impossible to do (especially in the case for art.. porn may well be easier to define though I don't even want to try defining either).

 

Most of the stuff on that site you linked looks like porn, but I've seen a lot of nudity stuff that's really classy and cool.

 

I've taken a look at this site. And there are some really nice pictures there. And I mean nice in a creative way. Nice ideas of posing in a way that's intresting and not primarily too make you sexually excited or something (hope I said that right) There are some nice angles the picture was taken from. But that are just a few pictures. Most of the picures are just plainly someone standing there naked, and that's not too intresting.

 

I think that anything can be considered art. A dead bird on the sidewalk could be considered great art if someone paints it or takes a picture.
Pictures of a nude body are art because someone decided to render that image in his/her own way and present it to the world. Now, there is definitely a difference between 'art' and 'great art', it's all in the execution of the final piece and the emotion conveyed. I have seen some pictures in porn mags that were absolutely stunning-if I saw the same image at a gallery, I would buy it and display it. I have also seen pictures of 'art nudes' that were total garbage.....it all depends on your interpretation of art.

 

i just don't like the thong tan lines. i think that's just tacky. tanning just implies hootchies, which equals porn to me, for some reason.

other than that i think they are quite beautiful! =)

 

That site had some tasteful nudity, a few were borderline. I like artistic nudity, nerve.com has some great stuff.

 

There is definitely such a thing as artistic nudity, the human body is beautiful.
