No one is disputing that they aren't eligible. What is in dispute is whether that should be so.

 

The dispute is because they aren't eligible. We wouldn't be having the conversation otherwise. Therefore the hypothetical "Don't vote for them" is merely that, hypothetical, because they can't, and hopefully wont be allowed to run.

You are right that we wouldn't be having this conversation if it were legal. If that little clause had been left out of the Constitution initially, there wouldn't be a fuss over it today. No one would be clamoring to amend the Constitution to DENY foreign-born citizens the right to run for President.

Yeah well if the forefathers had written it into the constitution to begin with then it'd be every day reality, and I may feel differently about it. However for a couple hundred years now all foreign-born citizens have been denied this same right. How many foreigners, other than the caucasion(sp?) Arnold really want the job anyway? Even Collin Powell decided not to run for president for fear of assassination. You people call me racist, and while it may seem that way from my stance, there are people out there a lot more "racist" than I. I'm not completely against this, I'm against how it's being handled, and I'm against, what I believe, is the sole reason for this being a political issue now. I'm not saying that all of you who want this to change want Arnold in office, but somebody does, and this is just the first step.
