I use to live in AZ in the 80s I loved it. Right now I live in Washinton State, Awsome up here. Anyway My boys will be 19 next year and I'm movin back down there. I'm an Inspector I hear theres alot of Construction going on down ther. I will be living in Scotsdale. Anyone have prices on 2 bedroom apts. there?
hmm, in scottsdale depending on the area, a decent two bedroom apt will range between 600-1300 depending on how nice you want it. 600 may be dumpy, but my buds got a few places less than a grand that are spectacular.. and the desert state isnt too much fun if you dont go out in the desert and enjoy it! or use some substances donated by the hard working growers of ca, haha..
we moved down to Carefree (just North of Scottsdale) from the NW about 4 years ago. The heat is intense but we have grown accustomed. Our thermostat is kept at a much higher temp then before. I still have the webbed toes and the gills behind my ears (Waterworld) from living in Oregon and Washington state for so long.
I live in Kingman, and I cannot really say that there is a lot here. Or perhaps i am just not connected. I would like to contact anyone living in kingman and maybe make some friends!
Gilbert here. Tis east of tempe and west of apache junction. I like it here, but want to move out of state.
I'll be hiking down from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to Phantum Ranch, and jumping into a kayak in two weeks, baby! Gettin' stoked!
Have fun!!! I'd like to hear about your adventures when you get back. I'm a Tucsonan; mostly stay at home... play with beads and rocks and plants, and talk to bunnies and gila monsters.
Man, what an awesome trip! Flew into Phoenix, drove thru Flagstaff past the snow capped San Francisco Peaks, camped on the South Rim, froze my ass off with temps in the low 30's and sleet all night, got up at 4 am, and made the hike down to Phantom Ranch by 8:30 to meet my crew of paddlers and oarsmen. Soo, with only a few hours of sleep, after a ten mile hike, I jumped into a kayak I never paddled before to run some of the biggest rapids on the trip, horn creek, granite, and hermit, all of which went smooth. Slept like a rock that night, and luckily I didn't have any duties assigned to me. It was freakin' cold and rainy the first couple days, but then it heated up to normal for the rest of the trip, which was key, since that water is damn cold. The rest of the trip kicked ass, with some big rapids, culminating in lava, which I ran most of the way upside-down, getting flipped twice in two monster holes on river right. The side hikes were pretty cool too, elves chasm, deer creek, havasu, 'damn near shit my pants on some of those high ledges. It was an experience I'll never forget, that's for sure. Now I gotta get back on the tread mill of life, but it's all good. Flagstaff seemed like a good place to live, a college town with lots of opportunities for outdoor recreation close by. 'Reminded me of Boulder, only smaller, which is fine by me. Too bad I didn't see this earlier, next time... :cheers2:
I was in Arizona (Tuscon, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Tempe, Sedona, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon) in April. I absolutely loved Sedona, Flagstaff and Grand Canyon). i had an awesome experience which i will never forget...People are so friendly and happy with their lives. I don't see that in NJ. I don't know if i can move there because it is very laid back and quiet but I would love to visit again...
I'm in Chandler, Arizona It's not so bad...kinda boring. And the desert scenery is not my style, I'm living near a beach someday. The Void : Gothic/Punk paradise for all you underground misfits.
