The Queen of Soul is gone at age 76.
She started recording at the early age of 14, was signed to Columbia in 1960 and in one year had 10 Top Ten Hits.

Her career had slumped by the 1980's but was revived by her appearance in the Blues Brothers movie. The studio wanted newer acts but Dan Aykroyd and the rest of the crew insisted on Franklin.

So she no longer has experience of the world. She is gone. Big deal. Why do I feel nothing about this.

(Still you thought enough of her to post a comment - so that was nice)

I did not know her music too well......but I can sure appreciate talent such as she had. She was very pretty in that photo with the Blues Bros.

I need took at her song list to try to remember how I first heard of her.
