if you don't vote I don't want to here you complain about this country. PERIOD.

I get tired of having to listen to the 70% of people who choose not to vote, because they don't seem to realize that our country isn't a democracy because they don't vote.

:sunglasse Weather we vote or not we have every right to complain. There is no law that says we have to vote, and our first amendment right's give us the right to complain all we want, it's called freedom of speech.

whatever values, beliefs, or idiologies it pays lip service to, goes through the motions of, even fanaticly goes through the motions of, a thoughtless populas begets its own tyranny. this is not a judgement of what is observed, but an observation of what takes place.

voting is only one of the many, but it IS one of the many, ways, of reminding people of this.

ha, i wouldn't worry about real dogs and cats and dead people voting so much as the immaginary ones invented by software in the proccess of vote tabulation at the centers voting places pass their counts on to. that and the vast numbers illigitimately disinfranchised or inaccurately counted, perhapse deliberately miscounted as there is much evidence of having taken place in ohio and certain population centers elsewhere.

yes the election 'system' IS scandal ridden. and by an order of magnitude more so since the introductions of electronic voting owned and controlled by partisan intrests.

none the less the point of voting is to make a statement that you do care, even if the act itself, other then making such a statement, could conceivably, be one of futility.

and there IS the off chance that your vote, might, actualy be counted.

even dead cats don't always vote the way the're expected to.
and gremlins don't spare tyrannts, any more then they do the rest of us.

    I agree with you 100%.

The way our government is, it's IMPORTANT to vote. Of course, if you don't agree with any of the candidates and aren't educated about the issues or the candidates, DON'T VOTE! But to sit around and bitch and complain and wonder why our system is fucked is because there's a whole lot of talk going on and no action. if you don't like the candidates, run for office! Work on advocacy campaigns that ARE important to you. If you don't like the way our government is run, try to change it or get the fuck out and stop bitching. It gives me a headache.

And I hate hearing people say that they aren't going to vote because of stupid political ads...stop watching TV if it bothers you that much.

I am voting, of course, because I REFUSE to let just a few elite people in our country control who is elected. AND YOU SHOULDN'T LET THAT HAPPEN EITHER, so get out and vote!

So, basically, you do nothing? That's just like voting for the WRONG candidate. Get out and do something if you don't like the US system of gov't. Don't just do NOTHING, that doesn't solve the problem.

    :sunglasse Hi DancerAnnie,
My point basically is that I feel like my vote does not count, so no matter who i vote for it will make no difference. I also dont trust the system that is doing the counting. I believe the whole voting thing could be a sham and it's large corporations and banks that might be fixing the counts. Like I say though I have not factual proof of this happening.

The voting system is going to be the way it us until people step up and DEMAND a change. If people like you sit around and don't do anything, there will be an elite few that will control who is in charge of the US governmental system. Basically, you are letting other people determine YOUR future! If you and people that agree with you or believe the same things you do, don't do ANYTHING...it will always continue the way it is...change doesn't happen by itself.

That's why I always encourage people who don't like the way the US system works, RUN FOR OFFICE! Rally people together, gather signatures, protest...do SOMETHING...or else it will always stay the same.

Please understand, Im not trying to be an asshole or anything like it, I do suport other peoples right to make the choice for themselves if they want to vote or not, but just as much as they have a right to make the choice to vote I have a right not to get involved in it.

Like I have said anyway my vote will not bring about the changes I want so I am stuck. Even though I disagree with some things in the governmental system I have no choice but to follow there rules, As all of us will be stuck doing so.

Please understand too that im not anti government, there has to be some form of control and i have always showed respect to the authorities and will continue to do so.

Yeah, but if you complain about it and don't like it...then you should DO something about it.

There are lots of people out there that think the same way...and if you all banded together and DID something...I can almost guarantee you that you COULD make a change.
