its weird cuz i dont see the connection between the title and the questions but i will flatter you none the less...ummm...yes...yes...yes...its my room i assume i am in the there right? actually its odd you would ask cuz not even a week ago i ran out of paper mid epiphany and was surprisingly close to writing on my walls...but then i flashed back to this crazy character when i was a wee boy and we laughed at him for his walls covered in jiberish...now i feel bad! i decided later on its not such a bad idea but i need to always be certain the musings are worthy of such a permanent act of egomania its like how people joke about having on clean underwear when they die or for me any at all ya my house/room is more or less empty theres an unplugged tv sitting in the middle of my living room ive yet to bother with and i even have free cable some people ask about that other than that ya its just a room with scattered paper everywhere i spend most my time outside
The connection to the title is because for me to see someone's room tells me more about them than they could ever describe about themselves. An empty room denotes lack of solace, or the joy of being alone with your thoughts. The more creative pursuits you enjoy alone, the more your room will be the reflection of that.
My room is not so fascinating.... I'm an interesting person, just don't have time to extend the interestingness beyond my person.
This really made me think of a quote from the book fight club... "...you're not how much money you've got in the bank. You're not your job. You're not your family, and you're not who you tell yourself.... You're not your name.... You're not your problems.... You're not your age.... You are not your hopes." ~Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club, Chapter 18 Very much true.
I did that since 1980 till around the early 90's...all I could carry was a sleeping bag, and some notebooks. Travellling around made me feel free, not lonely, but i would read books in bookstores, and write my ideas about life and freedom.
my rooms pretty bare still, i'm not sure what all i still have to unpack haha, i left a bunch of shit at my moms house. If they liked music, books and video games and cats they'd be in luck, i live with a boy who has pretty much the same interests as me, so we have a shit load of video games, few comics, few guitars, a few amps, shit load of books and CDs as well, I also have some recording equipment, but i don't usually let strangers near that shit...i also have a kitten but for most people it'd be pretty boring in my room right now, not for me. but like my room, some people will find me very interesting and fun, while others will think i'm lame and boring...or just crazy and weird....I can be all of the above sometimes i mix and match. haha
I have more stuff that I account for...books, guitars, amplifiers, recording workstations,Tv's, comptuter, keyboards, purifiers, bags of clothes, drum machines, shelves gallore, cables and more cables, desks, more cd's that I can count, trunkloads of tapes. Boxes of notebooks....etc.
