[quoteStill think the Iraq war is relevant?][/quote]
Absolutely. Just the cost of the war has contributed to Americas decline.

And will continue to do so as long as the US believes its role is that of an International Policeman. The other aspect worth thinking about is the US has always had a very expensive way of waging war. Not just advanced technology but if you tour any US base in, say, Afganistan you'll find all the comforts of home installed at enormous expense. It's one reason troups from other countries fighting along side Americans get more than jealous. During the second world war US troups stationed in Australia had a very bad reputation with locals describing them as. "Overpaid, oversexed and over here"

We had a good run, america. It's time for the fall, pride goeth before a fall. we need to learn what it's like to be a slave again. i actually can't wait until selfish americans realize they are broke and lose their pride and dignity. it will be a pleasure to watch them cry and moan. americans have lived very lush lifestyles for a long, long time. we have become decadent and lazy and we lost whatever morals we claimed we had. we are demonic, arrogant, uppity people who need some slave labor to clean our brains of our wickedness. civilizations rise and fall, we need to go through this. because we need to understand true evil and only then will we be forgiven for all our transgressions..

You'll have to speak for yourself here. I don't consider myself or most of my family in this regard. Most of us (other United Stateians too)work hard for a living, and stand up for our rights when we need to. Just kind of tough to make a stand when you are mostly by yourself. There are surely some as you describe, but most of those that I know of are business owners.

You must be living a real special kind of life. average americans are dumber than a second coat of paint but they sure don't mind getting in your face and bashing your brains in. we have become animals. americans are selfish animals who all they want in life are gadgets, ipads, kindles, etc. it's so disgusting, just think of how low a populations I.Q. has to be to feel better than someone else for showing off his/her new ipad on a bus/train. i see it all the time. americans are a decadent bunch of spoiled brats who really do deserve to be bankrupted. just to show them that they are nothing. as a punishment. like i said, civilizations rise and fall. we need to face our fall. we need to face the music and face the error of our way. we need to put away the gadgets and stand for more than people who beat each other up over a cell phone at walmart on black friday..

Ah, I remember you now. My apologies for even bothering to quote on anything you say since you are obviously in need of mental help.
I will make sure to remember you so this will not happen again.
Please, seriously, seek help before you end up harming someone.

We did go bankrupt. Still going thru it. Worst economy since the Great Depression. Only this time people arent starving because the govt is borrowing funds.

People will always over-exaggerate these type of events, but it is a classic example of debt catching up with a country on a massive scale. What did the government think would happen when they overspent so much on war during the early 2000's and even now.

First of all; The war on terror, really? That cover up is so fragile , most people know the real reason why they went in. Trying to police the world like they are doing will cost a hell of a lot of money.

Second; Giving weapons and other resources to other countries like Israel when you're digging yourself a hole, there is no sense in it. America overspending to try and prove it's still strong? Too proud if you ask me. Make some cuts! We're not afraid to do it in the UK and in the US you should not be afraid either.

One thing is for sure; If America falls it's going to make a hell of an impact on every country.

Not to panic. The rich are doing fine. Isn't that the most important fact? Isn't that what corporatocracies do? The business of america is business and we either have to buy our way or blast our way in to other countries if their resources are to be successfully taken.

We're the most prolific arms dealer in the world and some people want peace? The joke's on us.

So yes--it seems inevitable. The only constant is change.

Do you think America has never made any cuts - ever, and that there might not be automatic cuts in a few days time?

Lol, that's a gross over exaggeration. Obviously they have, but their government spends too much to try to pump life back into the economy. More cuts are needed IMO.

I've heard the cliche about 'no new taxes' but the taxes are raised and cuts are made. Rhetoric and reality are obviously two different things.
