i like to think there's a kind of psionic internet that we enter sometimes when we dream, and that a very few people can even log on to when they're awake. or awake or asleep, perhaps some times we log in to it unintentionally. of course there's also the whole non physical spirit energy which is contiguous and we are like unstopped bottles, containing separate air but contiguous with the same atmosphere. which is how i see "no self and no other" as actually referring to. the contiguousness of the air in the bottles. and of course the bottles, our bodies, are temporary.
http://kinkiki-vs-the-bible.com/ 90+% of the cosmos is what scientists call "dark energy" (tho i disagree with what scientists think it is), and i argue that that means WE are ALL and EACH 90+% composed of something scientists can't figure out, but it is an "energy" that is what "physically" "holds" everything together. our minds/thoughts/feelings/energy/waves are obviously there/here
it's like the aspen forest. biologists have found out that even though when we look at a forest of aspen trees it looks to us like it's 10,000 individual trees, it turns out that in fact it is ONE organism with 10,000 shoots. now let's say that each of us is not only physical but made up 90+% of "mind/thoughts/feelings/energy/waves": if one of us - like an aspen tree - is damaged, if one of us is healthy, if one of us intends/does something, though it may seem like it pertains to the one individual (or aspen tree), in fact, because the one perceived as individual is part of the larger organism, then "obviously" the whole organism is affected. what i mean by "our minds/thoughts/feelings/energy/waves are obviously there/here" is that what one aspen tree (each of us, even our molecules) DOES/FEELS/"EMITS" obviously "is there" for the entire organism, which is really "here"
You mean sense the mood without knowing, like twins for example? 'Cause I think the mood sensing of strangers is really mostly done by subconscious communication signals/observing. Thanks for clarifying man, I see what you mean now.
i think that most of what OP describes is most likely merely the projection of our own feelings onto others. this works particularly well online, in text based forms of communication, bcause the message is essentially tone neutral, we read it in our mental voice, and it reflects our mood. if we are feeling down, for example, neutral messages become gloomy or morose, and happy messages can become sarcastic, infantile or aggressive. it also works for people you meet and see, but to a slightly lesser extent, certainly your own mood will affect how you percieve the moods of others. it isn't "picking up" on a shared mood so much as allowing your own to tilt your interpretation of what you see. theres a similar phenomenon with weather; have you ever noticed strangers look more attractive when it's sunny? the weather is lifting your mood, and the relative lack of clothing is making you subconsciously horny, therefore people appear better looking to you. i call it "sun goggles" naturally, you can pick up on the mood of others subconsciously, but this doesn't imply a psychic connection between people, merely that the subconscious of a person causes them to act in certain ways which betray their mood, and your subconscious can recognise and interpret these actions as signifiers of mood. We do that literally all the time, subconscious action and interpretation form a good percentage of all of our communications. that said, jung's theories on collective subconsciouses are interesting, these don't stretch nearly as far as any sort of psychic experience, mind reading or anything like that, but merely explain that our responses to certain images and archetypes may be inherited rather than learned, and that therefore may be the same for similar individuals. “My thesis then, is as follows: in addition to our immediate consciousness, which is of a thoroughly personal nature and which we believe to be the only empirical psyche (even if we tack on the personal unconscious as an appendix), there exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal, and impersonal nature which is identical in all individuals. This collective unconscious does not develop individually but is inherited. It consists of pre-existent forms, the archetypes, which can only become conscious secondarily and which give definite form to certain psychic contents.”
You could break that down physically as well in that we have our individual bodies as well our body being a common currency of the species. I think the archetype can be/is informed by the individual. Everything happens on the edges. That is our condition can be transcended and new paradigms may emerge. Although we cannot decide what our inheritance is we can decide what we do with it and in so doing provide new material for the base as our experiences are passed on. The collective unconscious is obviously available to scrutiny as it expresses itself through the individual psyche.
We're all connected, the egos we build to function in the material world disconnect us from that knowledge/feeling/experience. Part of life is about learning to reconnect. Consciousness is possibly a state of matter - quantumly entangled sharing of information. It's all a question of how in-tune you are to the correct frequency, we can all connect if we learn how... learn to meditate and you will see :sunny:
Over the last few weeks there's this little idea that keeps popping into my head... Vacuum energy / zero-point energy is explosions of consciousness. It's energetic and dualistic... funky :sunny:
much obliged, Asmodean. btw love the drawing that makes up ur signature. i used to see it connected to classic "trinity" spaghetti westerns. very kool
I don't often get the newspaper, but when I do the Comix section is one of my stops. I have noticed on occasion that several different, unrelated comic strips with the same joke or theme on a given day. These aren't the obvious holiday themes but just an arbitrary idea that seems repeated by one or two other strips. How do these different artists/writers from all over the world hit the same theme on the same day? I go for some kind of connectedness.
I believe feelings are energy. You attract people / situations that mirror your vibration at a particular time.
I think we're just all that sensitive. There is an unseen law of "who is the alpha" going on here, and I think we're all sensitive to it on a very, very subtle scale. To where it almost seems not to exist anymore, at least not in that sort of apelike way. You know, like dogs looking for the alpha. So who knows the underlying cause of spontaneous sadness. Is the alpha, whoever that is, pissed off at us all one day and we all walk around moping because "alpha doesn't like me".
Yes, it is promotional artwork for that very same movie indeed :2thumbsup: Love that image of him travelling like that  I wish! Or am I interpretating this too literally perhaps
