About just over a month ago the Government were backing a plan to try and get people to return to the office .

This at the time I thought was bonkers and goes against any rational thinking when its about controlling the virus. The DWP office in Leeds was pictured with staff very close around a desk. 2 people ended up being sent home as they tested positive. I can only think getting people back to the office was because some of the property owners in the City Centres are owned by Tory backers. There can't be any other rational reason .

However if the BBC is correct the PM when he addresses the nation in the early evening is expected to again encourage people to work from home wherever possible.

    Morning.
So visiting other house holds inside or out.
Possible compulsory working from home for those who can.
Pubs close at 10pm (fine with me)
Some travel restrictions mainly abroad but still unclear about travel within scotland/uk

I don't think they are much different to those in England ( Not sure about Wales or N Ireland )

Not sure if Nicola would have used the word "compulsory" when it comes to working from home. Perhaps like you say working from home if you can.

The subject of travel restrictions unless I missed it never came up . For me that's the biggest problem of which politicians have pussy footed around because they all like their holidays in Barbados or where ever .As an Island nation IMO we missed the opportunity of keeping the virus at bay by keeping airports,.ports etc open . This is how the virus got here in the first place . Only recently ( last Bank Holiday weekend) a guy coming back from Ibiza ended up locking down my home town . My nearest local pub now is in a neighbouring town . The penalties for non compliance of isolating when coming from overseas are not steep enough and not policed efficiently . This guy I referred to just got a £1000 fine . Just think of the losses incurred by the hospitality industry of our town. There were pictures of Sophie one of the landlords of he pubs we frequent pouring barrels of cask ale down the drain . Sorry I am digressing a bit here ! :) I will get off my soap box now !

You havn't mentioned weddings in your list . In England it has been reduced for 30 to 15 . I think this is a travesty for those wanting to marry. I wouldn't have changed the numbers as they are one off events . There was no mention of funerals in England which is rather puzzling .

That is bonkers . So you cant even converse with your neighbour over a fence ? I can see people obeying that rule .

I suppose there is a way around it. If your having a barbecue you can post the burger through the letter box instead :) Smuggle the grand kids hidden in wheelie bins :)

Your right she didn't compulsory but she did use a more legal term. Can't remember the words now.
I think your right about the fines, as they say money talks do if you are going face a huge fine then you will comply especially if money is tight as it will be for a lot of people.

I don't hear anything about weddings or funerals this time round, I need to back and listen to or read what she said. But I don't she mentioned tbh.

I forgot to say kids under 12 aren't included on the restrictions and there are vague OKs regarding child care. Ie grand parent looking after kids. Still unsure of that at one residence

Funerals and weddings may be unchanged in Scotland. Don't forget you have a lady in charge and they tend to care more about these type of family occasions .

I think with kids under 12 its a case of wait and see. From what I have read there are divided opinions on the abilities of young children to spread the disease . It has been known for a long time though that they rarely become ill with it.

Yes very true. I watched something the other night after the news. Those on the program were talking about reports of kids having very different symptoms to adults. But it's still early days and inconclusive

No, clot !!! - you can converse over the fence because you're not actually visiting, but what you can't do is visit with a friend or relative.

I'll probably need to go to Specsavers ! :)

So smuggling the kids in wheelie bins so that they can see their gran may be a way forward ?

Or Just depends on how well you get on with your neighbours . There is no way the police have the capacity to enforce all these rules . Even the Chief Constables are having a moan now due to lack of resources .

I don't get on with my neighbour but I wouldn't stoop that low despite Patel's requests .
