Just wondering if any deadheads here have listened to the Grateful Dead/John Osborne work 'Grayfolded' (utilizing what Osborne has termed Plunderphonics) while tripping? The music used on these discs was taken from their 70's 'dark star' tours
Here's a different take on it. Honestly I only heard maybe 2 or 3 dead somgs in my life, and I didn't really care for them. But I still have a lot of respect for them just because of the love they inspired, the scene they were a part of, and what they were all about. Even though I don't really like them.. if I run into someone who says they love the dead I think "Huh, this might be someone I'd really like to chill with"
I love the dead,& will listen to them old records til I die.My ol lady hates em tho.she's 10 years older than me,but she sees the dead as representing non-bathing scumbags spitting on soldiers.Even tho I tried to explain that Jerry & jimi both served in the army, she's still stuck in her way of thinkin. She hates drugs,& supports the troops,so there aint no talkin.Don't be surprised if you see my mom at a show tho lol
man that sux that she cant seem to understand...but if ya love her good for u....maybe you van change her prospective some day
I'm 32 and most of my friends are between 25-35 and we'll all be going, and have been for as long as any of us can remember
Quite honestly, there's only a small niche of us that like them nowadays. The niche itself doesn't like to admit it but it's true. People should learn to enjoy the classics, they're really the roots, ya know?
Im 23 yrs old and I love the Grateful Dead. I have a library full of shows and I love listening to shows I havent heard and finding something truly special, I always do I have been a huge music fan all my life, but I feel of all my years of listening to music, it all led up to the Grateful Dead, once I really started listening to their shows, that was IT! I had found what I had been looking for musically all these years and there was no turning back! It puts a smile on my face just to know that something this wonderful in the realm of music/culture existed But Phil and Bobby are still going strong! Went to a Furthur show back in Feb and it was incredible. I will also be catching a show this summer as well. Great community of people young and old. Nothins better than the good ole Grateful Dead
i'm 18 and i love the GD, furthur, jgb, phil, ratdog, dso, and all the phamily. i saw the dead last year in chicago and i'm tryin' to see furthur this year. nothin' like the good ole grateful dead
I love the Dead! Better than the shit my generation produces. I get high-fives when I rock this around London http://www.havetohaveitco.com/images/GratefulDead/GD84.jpg
i just have a different taste of music. but i know plenty of kids who like the dead, although it may be less to do with their music, more to do with the 'image'
I love the Dead. Their music is so unique and beautiful that I really can't explain it. It's like faith, it's personal and has to be experienced to be understood.
