Hi There, been thinking about installing some Smart security camera in my home. I know security is not an issue where I live but I just wanna be better safe than sorry. A lot are appearing in Amazon and you don't know which one is better than the other. Blink, Arlo and Ring are ringing my bell so far. Some good reviews like the Wiredshopper (thewiredshopper.com/blink-xt-vs-arlo-pro2-vs-ring-spotlight-cam) recommend them as well. Any HIP experiences so far?

Blink Outdoor battery wireless cameras, Cheapest battery options, last up to 2 years easy. But depends on your video quality settings length of clip to keep, motion sensitivity, how much real time video you watch.

I've seen Netgear Arlo V1 work well, crisp video even at -10 reg F air temps. They have pricey, special batteries.

Wyze cameras from Amazon, nice , cheap, click like hell when motion triggered. They were hacked, but just email addresses. They have a pan & tilt, too. Indoor only.

    Avoid Ring like the plague!

Cheapest in terms of cloud cost, Blink, you get so many total minutes of clips to keep, or have the oldest get deleted once you fill your quota.

Wyze doesn't charge cloud costs, but they access off of a microSD card in the unit.

For quick & dirty, get a Wyze stationary or tilt camera for indoor where power is available.
