A racist is one who exhibits "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior." Oxford Dictionaries
A person who puts family first exhibits prejudice and discrimination against all others, regardless of race. Race may not even enter the picture.

i would be more inclined to blame the mentality, and its adgenda, that coined the term 'political correctness', to trivialize real morality.

there was also this idea, that began with the earliest invasion en masse of the western hemisphere, from europe,
that euro-christian identity was somehow more 'on the side of god' and thus somehow knew better,
then people who had learned from the land they lived on, how to live on it, for thousands of years.

so really, the real seeds of 'america/u.s.' self destruction, were planted from, even before, by several hundred years, its very beginning.
from time to time we've gotten close to outgrowing and overcoming them. one of those times was the basis of the concepts with which this site began.

  3. I recall "not in my back yard" as an ecological issue. People didn't mind flipping a switch and getting Gun Smoke, Green Acres and The Beverly Hillbillies, but they did not want a power plant anywhere near them.

However, I also remember "not on my street"/"not in my neighborhood" which is precisely what you're talking about. I know it seems like splitting hairs, but I think we all need to be careful how we morph the catch phrases of our various issues.

It's just a Quixotic fantasy on my part.

I found a quote from my Environmental Policy text that seems to say the same, though it's possibly out of context. I don't want to quote all of the surrounding text however, so here's what I've got!
