Both Islam and Judaism don't eat pork because it is "unclean". But lots of animals are dirty. Have you ever seen a farm? People might not have been that picky in the old days when the common man worked a lot harder to survive.

The pig's DNA is also very close to humans and in modern times with the vegan movement some people see their intelligence more than they used to. I wonder if there some forgotten old world reason for this kind of diet. I'm a vegan and I see the intelligence of many animals but pigs in particular do stick out to me.

On Coast to Coast Am years ago I heard a man claim that the US goverment knew the real reason. In ancient Greek times Atlantis was very advanced in science. They were doing things with DNA modern man thinks they discovered. Through this the created the pig from their own population. Criminals and the lower classes were given this mutated DNA as punishment. So the domestic pig as we know did not exist until it was a luxury for the rich. Humans love justice so under the same idea as hanging an evil man you punish him by eating him.

So when the new at the time religion of Judaism formed they still understood pigs were people. They wanted to get away from the pagan views of life that say it's OK to kill enemies. Future religons kept this tradition but lost the real reasons for it.

It sounds crazy but it's one of the best conspiracy theories I have heard.

I thought that domestic pigs are descended from Wild Boar.

Sounds like you never read Asterix books as a kid.

As a freerangertarian I don't eat pig at least as far as groceries go.
Rats share 90% of their DNA with humans.

the human embrio more closely resembles that of a pig then that of a monkey.
it has thus been speculated that pork is very close to canabalism and may contribute to the human form of spongiform incephalitus.

Pigs can become infected with trichinosis (round worm) when they freely feed on garbage . Among farmers ,
this is commonly understood to be the source of the Hebrew dietary taboo ... them demons be in the swine .

And pigs certainly display more intelligence and problem solving ability than I have seen in the US lately.

Pigs conspired with Aliens to create Christians and today's pigs no longer
eat garbage . Then , for better or worse , Pigs and Aliens made possible the
    modern State of Israel .

  8. Makes me think of the desiccated thryoid meds I take, both Armour and the others contain porcine extract. Armour has been around for decades and decades.

  11. Before big pharma came in with their explosion of synthetic thyroid med, that's all there was and it worked just great....then of course it was thrown under the bus for pharma.

Interesting animals, pigs. I think that they're smart and wonderful, but I don't eat meat so it's easy for me to say "bye" to bacon. I like them. They're very loving, and nurturing animals.

    Piggies
    The Beatles

Have you seen the little piggies
    Crawling in the dirt?
And for all the little piggies
    Life is getting worse,
Always having dirt to play around in

Have you seen the bigger piggies
    In their starched white shirts?
You will find the bigger piggies
    Stirring up the dirt,
Always have clean shirts to play around in

In their styes with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
In their eyes there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking!

Everywhere there's lots of piggies living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner with their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon

They used to, and may still use pig's heart valves for replacing defective human heart valves.
