Are male genital piercings out of style?

I called a local tattoo and piercing shop to make an appointment for a frenum pierce. It's the best known shop in town, with a stellar reputation. The guy I talked to said it wouldn't be a problem, but when I asked the price, he said, "I really don't know. Genital piercings used to be popular, but it's been a long time since we've done one. I'll have to check with the owner and get back to you."
