ciao diafonos I'm sorry for the bunch of shit you heard about greece, races,ecc..plus you're quite new to the forum..but I also noticed myself a few time ago, the same as you did...

but I'm sorry for Alexia and ladylocks too..becuase whatever they said, beyond being completeley out of this world and without any degree of truth, it showed how far can ignorance take...

Especially Alexia's points looked the most narrow-minded; but it was not a matter of bad attitude or feelings, that's just..sheer ignorance,

the problem is when ignorance leads to hatred..

    so knowledge is most important

so diafanos don't give up, bye

Ah I eagerly await the day when borders no longer exist and every human being can move about freely.Guys dont look at the skin ,look whats inside.
I am of greek heritage, and I've been mistook over time as ,an american Indian,English,Italian,Spanish,Israeli etc.I felt proud to be each one of those even for a short period of time.
However to Alexia and Lady locks, I might disagree with what you have to say(and I do) but I'll fight to death for your right to say it.

I wonder if Ladylocks is actually a lady. The vast majority of Northern European girls, when living in a racially mixed society with Southern Europeans, have had a crush on or dated Southern European boys. One reason for this is that males tend to prefer lighter-skinned females, while females tend to prefer darker-skinned males. Another factor is that people tend to date and associate with those who are genetically closest to themselves, and yet Southern Europeans are close enough that they are virtually indistinguishable from Northern Europeans in a multiracial society (compared to other groups/races), but often have the dark look that's perceived as exotic or attractive (within the range still considered "White").

In fact, it's quite common to see Whites having sexual relations with Blacks and Asians nowadays. When I was in the Netherlands I saw a young beautiful blonde girl with a Black boy, and no one protested. In the U.S. interracial couples walk unmolested in malls and other public places. But Ladylocks seems to insist there is an issue with Greeks, the Irish, and possibly other groups, based on her posting history.

How many attractive young White girls obsess over the flaws of the Irish or Greeks on the internet? My guess is that Ladylocks is a computer geek who lacks sociability. Her behavior profile is not that of an alpha female with a large social circle.

See the problem. Point it out. Help it out.

We need no more pointing fingers.
Less we understand, more we need to love.
And then we just have to know to believe that will help it out...

    love and understanding,
    -wolf :)

    Interesting question.

Italy isnt part of the European "plate" - the plates on the world's crust that move about. It is vunerable to earthquakes because it is a separate Italian plate

many Lebanese look much more European than Greeks , Spaniards and many Italians.

One thing is tho , Greeks and Turks often hate each other through millenia of wars.
You could say that dark haired Greeks do look as Asian as Turks.
But many West Europeans are dark haired.
The Welsh were originally from Spain ( Spanish and Welsh places start with a "Ll"often , and before that Iran.Welsh often have dark hair and skin,

Then you have East Europeans and French with dark hair and often darkish skin
The blonde "Aryans" ( Germans and Scandanavians) supposedly came from Turkey as may have some of the ancient blonde GReeks.

The mix of race and appearance and geography is more complicated than we might think.
Culturally tho Greeks are part mediterranean and part east european - a mix of the climate and their Orthodox religion IMO.Theres a little western european about them arguable as they have a classical academic culture background too.

In Australia , Greeks were referred to as "wogs" - a term used in England for blacks.
So yes in some ways , Greeks have been viewed as "the blacks of Europe".

I cant say Greeks are Asian tho , that IMo is very inaccurate
Then there is another category , Id call it Eurasian- sort of non European Russian would be an example.

Britain definitely has multiple cultures- whether theyre all British is a different matter tho/
And whether or not theyve all integrated is a very different thing.
Britain doesnt tend to have "ghettoes" unlike America.
But it does have predominantly ethnic minorities forming the majority in many urban boroughs. And in 100 years time , we may find white Britons are quite a small minority ( as they have smaller families than immigrant groups).

My view is that the 1950s influx of migrants to Britain was more about the dubious forces of globalism , than an apology for colonialism , or a desire to "free other races from poverty".
ie bring in people used to poverty to force the English working class to accept more poverty( ie lower wages) while the rich get richer from it all.

And the same things happening to today with the enlarged EU.

Some people arent going to like it , BUT certain ethnic groups come to Britain swearing blind that they love the culture .But 20 years after theyve arrived , they hardly speak a word of English and dont bother to associate with any "native" Britons.
Then they start going off on one , saying that the words "Mecca Casino " or a council putting up "Merry Christmas "Lights deserve a riot.

Theres nothing wrong with some types of immigration , but I think it needs to happen for the right reasons.AND I think that some immigrant groups should adopt a less "holier than thou" perspective in regards the secular non religous culture of much of Britain.

Its one thing to keep some of your own culture when u emigrate but to attack Britons for being "godless infidels" because they wear mini skirts or drink beer is outragous IMO.
( except if their male and wear mini skirts)lOL:)

Greece is the birthplace of modern civilization.
(look at a euro, that's the reason why it has Greek writing on it, at least that's what I'm assuming)

    Wow,

    Hi diafonos,

I just came upon this thread, and I was quite amazed for the exact reason that you mentioned. Most people in here do not act like this, I think you just happened to have found a couple of ignorant racists. Or like one person hypothesized, maybe they were just taking the piss. Though I don't think so. Hope your succeeding experiences on the forums were more pleasant.

Does it matter? Is it going to kill you? Who cares what colour anyone is apart from KKK, BNP and others of that ilk. I lived in Greece for years. Surprise surprise there are also blue eyed blondes there and they are greeks. Have you ever been to Greece? Or Turkey? Or North Africa?

No you learned about ex-pat Greek culture. To learn about someones culture you have to go there and live and experience for a while - and I don't mean two weeks....

    This is a funny thread.

The Finns are from Asia? You have to go quite many thousands of years back. And in the beginning we all came from the same place. We are humans.

And about the great western civilization, it's a disaster. it happened, but would be much better without it. If some culture had a big part creating that mess, it's no reason to be proud.

But what was essential in greek philosophy isnt the essence of the contemporary western culture. the essense of today is excess.

Philosophy didn't have birth in just one place and not in the time of ancient greece. Someone could say that philosophy died then. what was philosophy then is not any more.

greek culture was a mix of different influences, greek thinkers travelled abroad and many foreigners travelled to Greece.

Was it a democracy in a Greek polis and what does democracy mean? If that was democracy, we have no trouble discribing the society of Saudi Arabia as democratic.

Did you know there is a part of EU in South America?

That one you can see in the paper euros

    how an ignorant topic

historically the Germanic tribes and Turkish tribes have immigrated from the same area. How ridiculous to say that Europeans are white and Africans are black? It is all about climate and Italians, Spanish and Portugeses people look no different than Greeks or Turks.
